Prefacing this with the usual caveat that I don't make monetised YouTube content, so hats off to anyone who does. But the latest JayEmm video on a potentially dodgy, clocked Ferrari 360 is a mammoth 34 minutes long when it could be a 10 minute one or less. I kept waiting for a bombshell revelation to come but it didn't.

I get its a cheap video to make as its just a couple of cameras on him, but felt like a weird choice.

I have watched more of his videos recently because he does manage to get hold of some interesting cars. But he is really hard to listen to and I don't think his opinion is particularly valuable; as you say, the whole of that video about a clocked F360 being auctioned should have had an ending and it felt like it just fizzled out. Even the car test drive videos are way too long. But he seems to be doing OK out of it, so good for him.

One thing about automotive Youtubers is that most have personal car collections which I think they treat as business assets to offset expenses. I have a suspicion they fly a bit close to the sun on that; I bet Jayemm does not pay company car tax on his F12 for instance. Wonder if HMRC will start to take an interest; Jayemm is not the worst offender anyway. High Peak Autos is probably safe because he does have an actual car sales business.

He does get some very cool stuff to drive and I think on the length of his videos he did a piece before looking at why they're as long as they are v cost to make and return. Or perhaps it was a video on the general cost to make these things.

How should that work? Business assets are by definition, assets used wholly by the associated company aren't they? I guess it depends on how they're being funded in the first place.

Cars are an odd one - if there is any personal use and it's not a commercial vehicle you're pretty much going to fall into the company car tax regime. On anything non-EV which is interesting, that is going to be punitive if properly declared.

I’ve been watching this guy recently. Similar vein to High Peak (car dealer and reviewer). He’s not been going long so some of his content isn’t that polished but he’s entertaining enough.

He's like a lot of car YT channels, he talks a lot but doesn't actually say anything - you don't actually get any information out of his videos. But like I've said before, to be fair, he was one of the few really pushing Lotus videos when many weren't, so it was interesting to see those if nothing else.

The old guy also had a Lotus that he sold to Gary too.

As a side note, that 928 GT recently broke down with a failed water pump. There's an episode of the restoration where Gary checked the timing belt, saw it looked in decent shape and didn't bother replacing it. He'd bought a new kit with tensioner, belt and water pump too. He was out driving it last week and the temperature went sky-high and the belt tension warning light came on. Water pump had seized. Doubt he'll be mentioning that on a future video!

I'd happily own a reknowned Stratos rep. And i have no issues with Cobra or GT40 reps.

Paradoxically I find almost every other rep rather tragic. (And I do realise that a copy kit car isn't the same as a genuine rep).

This thing sounds good, but has half the power of the real thing and has nothing like the rev limit. Looks kinda right, but not. Front wheel offset is a real giveaway.

Also - making a gated shift for a gear lever/gearbox that wasn't designed for a gated shift..... no surprise that creates some challenges.

No - pedals shown at your 2nd time stamp are those of the real deal.

makes a change from 'ring crash vids I suppose (although many of them are obviously damage caused by impacts/incidents).

Weirdly the 992 headlight around 1min20 is identical to a 992 headlight issue that caused a stoppage at Anglesey......
