South Korea
According to the BBC an unscheduled late night broadcast by the president announced martial law to protect against North Korean forces. That is very concerning and asks many questions, not least about China's level of involvement in whatever triggered the situation.

Re: South Korea
My daughter was over there for the jamboree which was a disaster. Her take was that those in charge of he jamboree and the country, were completely incomepetent but the people and teh country were magnificent.
Sounded like whoever was at the top was a real dodgy bugger, and people kept apologising to her for the crapness of their leaders, just people in the street, seeing her uniform, coming up to say sorry and often give then wee gifts.

Oh yeah, the site for camping was a disaster, was all over the news. The info we got back was that the Scout Association in SK repeatedly said the site was useless as it was a swamp with some fill in. Someone somewhere was alleged to have used influence an dpossibly cash to have it picked as it was unsaleable due to how it was. I won't go into mad detail here but it was a farking clownshow.
Over a year later she remembers the good bits most of all, thankfully, but she was so upset, as all teh kids were when they were evactuated and put in school halls etc.
