Re: what car thread - Lotus Edition
I really must get the S1 up to Scotland, I suspect it would be quite magnificent.

Lovely isn’t it - i spoke to the guy and he was firm on cost, it still sits a little outside my budget.Matty wrote: Tue Nov 12, 2024 10:55 pm On a more realistic budget![]()

Thats the next move, followed by telling him i can get the same thing cheaper from a dealer with a warranty, before finally telling him it’s a crap spec and he’ll never sell it.Matty wrote: Wed Nov 13, 2024 12:53 pm Have you told him there is CASH waiting if he decides to lower the price?

Bit less cash so would give some budget to make it what you want.

i’m warming to the idea of a cheaper S1 that isn’t perfect, because if it lives outside my house on my drive, even a perfect one isn’t going to stay that way.

Ive seen the car and met the owner. He's running my geo settings I used on my S1.
Im not in Glasgow however. Im east of edinburgh.
Re: what car thread - Lotus Edition
I am in the correct city, but I can't claim to be an Elise expert.
Can you ask him to offer an Evora for sale instead? If yes - like George Michael - I'm your man.
Craig Moncrieff (indie based in Edinburgh) does inspections. I've never used him for this but it might be an option for you to consider?

Yeah, Glasgow is 7.5 hours of driving from me - more than i’m willing to do for a car that may turn out to be crap!scotta wrote: Thu Nov 14, 2024 12:21 pmTravel might be inevitable for the right car.Rich B wrote: Thu Nov 14, 2024 12:18 pmi really like it - shame it’s in Glasgow.scotta wrote: Thu Nov 14, 2024 11:49 am https://classifieds.seloc.org/ads/lotus-elise-s1-2/

i’ll give him a shout anyway, but as a time poor father and husband to a perimenopausal nutbag, i have to choose my car viewing opportunities carefully!

I’d say it’s lower than that just now. Happy to have a closer look if you want?

Yeah, I would’ve assumed.
