Quick Elon, do something to stop all those memes and posts about you being weird at that trump thing the other day.

Make up some more utter nonsense…

Who would have guessed that a massive PR stunt featuring prototype products that are not on the market yet, held at a film studio would be entirely theatre  But it worked, massive coverage across the entire interwebs for Musk, Tesla and by default, Trump. These videos are getting MASSIVE views across socials from audiences who aren’t as critical as on here and will believe it’s all real.

The taxi of the future which has the tyres painted to match the hubcaps to make them look lower profile.

And a minibus with no ground clearance and no windows. Because people love being driven around while not being able to see out.

Billionaires would love it because then they wouldn't need to look at The Poors. If you look at Teslas announcements from the perspective of "what would an insular manchild with more money than sense do" then it starts to make more sense. Taxi that can only seat two? That's all you need for you and your sex worker.

Minibus with no windows? Then the poors can't look in, or be seen.

Robot household assistants? Don't need to have empathy for low paid staff and you can abuse them without risking a lawsuit, unlike that time when you offered someone a pony in exchange for a handjob and had to pay them a quarter million bucks to silence them.

Anyway, I'm sure that Teslas stock would have rebounded because of this.

Oh, whoopsy.

Maybe Wall Street is catching on to Tesla consistently writing cheques with his mouth that the company can't hope to cash.

I’d say he is doing a lot of good with Ukraine and the hurricane hit areas. Because of that he can be a loony billionaire.

Or, on the other hand, not.
On X, Musk has amplified blue-check tweets claiming that FEMA would limit disaster relief to $750 per person, and was “seizing” donations and “claiming them as their own.” He’s spread vaguely apocalyptic claims that sheriffs in North Carolina are threatening to arrest any FEMA employees who “hinder rescue and aid work.” Relative to Musk, who has X’s most-followed account, the original posts come from small-timers—one account posts mostly about Tesla and investing in it, and another seems especially fond of trad-adjacent memes. Musk’s co-sign, though, functions as a bullhorn for agitprop that generates thousands of retweets and millions of views.
https://www.fastcompany.com/91207805/el ... x-to-do-it

This is verifiably hindering the efforts of disaster relief workers in NC and tying up resources as people waste time asking officials and workers about it.

A senator for NC, Kevin Corbin, during the Helene relief efforts:
Friends can I ask a small favor? Will you all help STOP this conspiracy theory junk that is floating all over Facebook and the internet about the floods in WNC. Example: FEMA is stealing money from donations, body bags ordered but government has denied, bodies not being buried, government is controlling the weather from Antarctica, government is trying to get lithium from WNC, stacks of bodies left at hospitals, and on and on and on. PLEASE help stop this junk. It is just a distraction to people trying to do their job. [...] I just talked to one Senator that has had 15 calls TODAY about why we don’t stop …….. “fill in the blank.” [SR: IE add one of many conspiracy theories Musk has signal boosted here] [...]Thanks for listening but I’ve been working on this 12 hours a day since it started and I’m growing a bit weary of intentional distractions from the main job …. which is to help our citizens in need.

I mean there's irony there since Corbin is a Trumper and has his own history of spreading conspiracy theories, but then that's what happens when you join the Leopards Eating Faces party.

And a little edit - as this was new to me - apparently it got so bad with threats to people on the ground that they actually had to halt aid and recovery attempts over the weekend in some parts of North Carolina.
Over the weekend, aid to several communities hit by Hurricane Helene in North Carolina was temporarily paused after threats were made against first responders.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (Fema) said reports of threats aligned with the spread of conspiracy theories about aid being withheld or diverted for political gain, CNN reported.

Donald Trump and X CEO Elon Musk were among those spreading such misinformation, it reported.

Aid is expected to resume today, and with one county sheriff urging those in affected communities to stay calm and not "stir the pot".
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/c748y2k ... df971#post

So quite literally, Musk is actively making things worse as those same conspiracy theories that he boosted are now being applied to Florida and Milton, too.

"Bro" and "butter dish" don't feel like they should be in the same universe, never mind sentence  8-)
I'm hearing it enunciated, "buttered (chicken)" rather than "bu'er dish".

It seems you're uncomfortable with that, Is that because the butter dish can only remain stationary while the stationery stapler's strike seems suggestive of a predator? Seems alien to me.

The whole cybercab/bus thing is just so daft on so many levels - only an un-questioning idiot wouldn't see straight through it

The problem is that Tesla (which is a tech, EV, "AI" company) is trying to solve a "boring" problem (mass transit) that has already been solved (buses and trains)

The only real way to "innovate" mass transit is it make it more available (more frequent, more routes, more stops, less expensive to the consumer etc) - and that's not something that a company like Tesla will really have anything to offer

And we already have driverless taxis in various places, and have for a while - Tesla "unveiling" this (and people somehow seeing it as a new thing) reminds me of the old Apple/Android thing (where boring old Android people, like me, point out how the "new" iOS feature has been around for years, you're welcome etc)

At least Musk has been punched in the virtual knackers about this (the stock price)

It may seem obvious, but the big problem with the robotaxi is FSD (or the lack of it).

Space Karen has been able to BS about FSD deliverable dates for nearly a decade now, and no-one has really cares, because at the end of the day the Model S, 3, Y etc were reasonably functional EVs even without FSD. However, without approved FSD, or a steering wheel, Robotaxi is dead in the water.

I believe it's just another part of Elon's pump and dump, because apparently taxi is '2026', which considering the Roadster, Semi, $40k cybertruck, $30k EV, etc etc etc, it's just another BS promise that will mean nothing, but meme stock tards will do their best so lap up anyway.

If you look at their core products, Tesla basically has an aging fleet of pretty average EVs (compared to the competition), with no replacements in the pipeline, a CEO who's gone full Trumpian and alienated their core demographic, they are fudging 'delivery' numbers, and their public is starting to see that in fact, the emperor isn't actually wearing any clothes.

And there's a solid chance they'll never have proper autonomous, non-supervised self driving until they start using LIDAR or other true 3D mapping solutions, which Musk has repeatedly refused to do, because as far as he's concerned, it's too expensive.

And it is. But maybe dropping a billion into researching a cheaper 3D point sampling system might have been more sensible than chucking it into Cybertruck or some blokes tele-operating a gussied up PhD student robotics project....you know, actual innovation.

Everything he does is fake.

Fake off road truck, fake robots, fake “self driving” vans.

Fake promises of help.

I find it utterly baffling that so many people can’t see past his bullshit.

Wouldn’t surprise me if his ‘robots’ were actually actors in suits.

I expect a lot of the top bods and actual investors and developers would be very happy if he had a little yachting accident.

They were remotely controlled.

Let’s not forget he was basically forced to publicly back trump after it was leaked that he had worked with the campaign to stifle negative criticism.

Making his claims of impartiality a load of shit too.

Yup, the idea that an owner of a social media company can skew its algorithm to favour the owners preferential electoral candidate is wild. America is fucked.
