I wonder if they're going to take a bunch of Russian territory and then use it as a negotiating tactic to get the Russians out of Ukraine rather than forcibly eject them. Take a sizeable chunk of Russian territory, make Putin look weak and incapable of defending his own territory then bring them to the negotiating table saying "You get out of Ukraine and we'll get out of Russia" it'd be much less costly in terms of men and equipment than trying to grind the Russians back.

It's strange, it's like the Russians don't even care. I believe the plan was to force the Russians to redeploy troops away from the Ukrainian lines, but reports suggest that hasn't happened and they're not even attempting to defend.

Interesting how many of these drones they can knock out of the sky. Obviously the military will have been working on things long before the public ever get a sniff, but do wonder how the uk would do if someone decided to send a swarm over. Do we have defences in place? Are we relying on the intelligence giving us enough advanced notice if something was planned?

Apparently after more analysis, it was determined it wasn't an Su-25, which is good, because that would be incredibly embarrassing.

It was an S-70 heavy unmanned drone.

I suppose that heavy drone and F16 are both single engined unlike most other planes in the air war there.

Perun's video "How corruption destroys armies" is fantastic (as are all his videos) although now two years old. Last week's was on the destruction of those enormous Russian magazines and there was more of "How CICI (Corruption, Incompetence, Complacency and Inertia) destroys armies"

However Russia does still have the USSR's legacy of stockpiled hardware (they've still got some of that albeit massively depleted) and things like a functioning ballistic missile industry.

The West's reluctance to give Ukraine everything it needs to push back means we're still looking at potentially years more carnage tragically.

This may be an exceptional case where the North Koreans will get better treatment under the Russians. They'll get an entire potato and onion a day and have a relatively swift death vs being thrown to hungry dogs which seems to be the usual way there.

Malnourished soldiers given there first opportunity to leave the country - who's primary will be "Operation Get Behind the North Koreans" ....? How many will make a run for it at the first opportunity?

General concensus is that their actual worth is very little, due to zero combat experience and signficant cultural/language barriers.
