With the supercharger rather than the Turbo. Any good?
Am getting hacked off with constant problems with old Swedish metal so seriously thinking about a bloody Honda Civic or similar, at least for the Mrs to have reliable transport!
Early Cooper S?
Re: Early Cooper S?
Mate of mine had one. Lovely to drive, tons of fun but with a crazily high first gear that makes it unusually hard to get moving (for me - maybe you get used to it). Surprisingly thirsty as well.

Yeah, very thirsty, not that fast and not very reliable. Still quite appealing though for some reason.

You can get a pulley for buttons and a remap to take them over 200bhp at which point they’re a lot of fun. Had one new but I’ve no idea how reliable they are.

I see a lot of early ones round here and they are all very rusty on the leading edges of the doors.

I like them too, they'll be a bit of a classic in a few years, far more so than any of the other modern era minis.Rich B wrote: Sat Sep 08, 2018 1:19 pm Yeah, very thirsty, not that fast and not very reliable. Still quite appealing though for some reason.

Cooper the more fun arguably, can be driven absolutely flat out everywhere!

Out of all the cars I’ve owned over the years by far and away I spent the most amount of time fixing the Mini Cooper we had.
