GPWM. You still get smeared though, albeit a substantial bus journey away from the originally intended site.nuttinnew wrote: ↑Wed Sep 05, 2018 11:41 pmPreacherCain wrote: ↑Wed Sep 05, 2018 11:35 pm GermanWings all good till the pilot decides to fly into an Alp.
If that had been a Ryanair plane it would have missed the Alp and ended up 80km away.

380s are very cool - I had a rear-facing seat on a BA flight once and looking down the leading edge of the wing on take-off was most impressive. You can see the wing starting to fly considerably before the wheels leave the ground, and the flexibility is JUST this side of scary.
Not bad for something built by Welshmen.

I was given extra cream and scones on an Emirates flight once. Later that same flight I awoke to find a beautiful Thai lady tucking me in with a blanket.
I should have looked all James Bond but instead just snuggled down and enjoyed being tucked in

Have you seen them doing wing bend testing?

As ever with here and the English media - it's BS. She had an expired passport, the 'glass of wine' was a few bottles and she videoed the immigration guy when entry was refused. Which is very illegal - filming or videoing anyone, not just officials.
Christ guys - do you think I could survive here if a glass of wine on a flight to a country that actively encourages drinking was an issue?!
I've been carried through immigration before

Managed to get to Portugal ok. Paid for priority boarding and seats together. Fast lane at airport too. Painless.
Just need to get back untroubled and they might have redeemed themselves.

Re: Ryanair
Priority Boarding = getting to sit on the hot and uncomfortable plane for longer AND paying extra
Last on the plane = winning
Last on the plane = winning
Re: Ryanair
I went on an easyJet flight somewhere ages ago, they let all the priority people out the doors first, followed by the rest of us... out to the bus. The bus then drove 2 mins to the plane and opened the doors on the other side.
People were going fvcking mental, pushing and shoving their way to the stairs!

Re: Ryanair
One of my favourite memories ever: me and MrsREV had been to Rome for a long weekend. Of course, we'd tried to pack as much as possible into the time we had there, so by the time we got back to the airport 50km outside of Rome to catch our Easyjet flight home we were knackered. We managed to find some seats and collapsed into them. This was back in the days before you could reserve your seats so it was a bit of a free for all to get seated. We'd decided we couldn't be arsed to queue and stayed in our seats. After about an hour, they let people onto the bus and we were literally the last people to get on it. Of course, this also meant we were the first people off it again, completely unplanned. I think 4 people managed to sprint ahead of us on the walk/sprint to the steps, elbows out, but I spent the flight feeling very smug.
