One of my favourite bits of useless information is that the various cliffs along Britain's south coast - Cliffs of Dover, Needles, Jurassic coast etc - were caused in some part during the Last Ice Age when the weight of retreating ice over the north of England and Scotland tilted the entire country

I was reading the other day that everest is taller now as a river gorge undercut the peak and the tension release made it spring up about 50 feet.

In the same vein the reason Denmark is flat as a pancake is because it got squished by the ice cover during the last ice age. It is slowly coming back up. In a scant few million years there'll be mountains!
