That's fantastic. I tow a trailer around quite a lot with my lawn tractor but that is only 2wd and the diff seems not to lock very much at all, so it's easy to get stuck on any sort of grassy or damp slope. Having the right tool for the job is very satisfying.

I've seen the horse women here have pitched together and bought a device that goes behind a UTV and automatically scoops up horse shit. It's pretty genius.

@Mito Man - That's exactly what we're considering next year, but need to wait and see how the land goes after having horses and sheep on them for 6 months or so. For some reason or another. I can't remember. Would definitely be good if we could use it, would be an absolute whizz to do this job then.

New car ordered, should be delivered Wednesday.

2 year old Mk8 Golf GTE, 20k miles, 1 owner, Metallic Black.

Has the fancy dampers optioned, has a heated steering wheel and some kind of headlight upgrade.

Not the most exciting car, but fits the requirements of what is needed perfectly.

Still on matching Michelins all round, bought online so unseen

I'd no idea they still did the GTE, I thought they'd ditched the badge and only got the e-Golf now.

Having recently joined the heated steering wheel club, I now realise why people rated them so highly

The opposite, the egolf ended with the mk7 (because there's the ID3 now) while the GTE continued. That powertrain is in a lot of VAG cars now.

I really liked my mk7 GTE. A decent short range electric car if you charge it often, great long range cruiser, and a good warm hatch too. Enjoy!

Yeah it's perfect for my wife's commute, 7 miles each way over narrow roads.

I looked at almost literally every car for sale below £30k before I finally bought this.

I very nearly got a Tesla Model 3 but we both hated the interior.

I really wanted an iPace but they're hugely wide, and whatever we got had to be narrower than the XF and Kuga.

Golfs are still surprisingly small cars!

Gave Steve the CRV a wash, gave a quick once over with diluted gloss to aid drying.
Continues to be boringly reliable.

In an even more exciting update than Steve the crv I finally bothered to check the focus’s tyre pressures after noticing a front looking a little low. I was only down by 1psi front left and 2 psi front right but it drives amazingly different, never known a car so sensitive to such a small pressure change. Guess it’s because it’s on 55 sidewalls

Weirdly my Defender is like that, a few PSI and it feels even more like a boat than usual. Maybe it is down to bigger sidewalls making more of a difference.

It had a recent polish and sealant (carplan, nothing fancy), so washing is very easy at the moment.
Just don't get within 1meter, every panel and bumpers have scratches and marks, drivers door handle has bad peel too.

After a few years of not having a car worth talking about, it's time to stop lurking after I picked up a new car this week:



Opted for a Polestar 2 MY23 Long Range Dual Motor as in NZ they're currently offering some great discounts, and I figured I could live without the additional ~10% range of the MY24.

Hard to judge too much so far, it's by far and away the nicest car I've owned - but so far;

- Driving wise it feels really composed despite weighing a little over 2tons, and wasn't unsettled by Auckland's crappy roads.
- Android Auto seems to work reasonably well, haven't felt the need to use carplay yet as the inbuilt apps seem pretty good.
- The range estimates are a little on the conservative side, which probably isn't a bad thing - have a decent road trip planned next weekend which should test that out.
