A slower paced vid, and the second half is perhaps more podcast, but not so bad;

I've posted this guy's stuff many times. Excellent stop-motion elements as always (including self compressing spring compressors of death around the 3min mark).

Adding this one mainly for the electroplating tip around 5mins. Not so easy if you don't have the equipment to blast clean parts first, and I just know it's a level of detail that I could never be arsed doing myself..... but..... it's still interesting. :geek:

I'll watch that later.
Just curious, but how bad was the Lotus Espirit in term of chassis rigidity?
How about not having a sig at all?

I enjoy his vids but they never seem to appear on YouTube in a correct order which is annoying. When one does finally pop up it then suggests me a load of other ones he’s done 😄

Not at all I don’t think. I’ve certainly never seen anyone complain about it.

They carried on with a backbone style chassis on the elan and s2 esprit into the mid 90s. Probably stiffer than most monocoque cars from the 70s 😄

That was relaxing to watch, I could do with those spring compressors to do a couple of jobs for me.

I may be more interested in this video than most people but I think it was a good watch. Not a major part but Dan Prosser’s cornering technique looked interesting from the static camera 😄

I lost interest a bit once Mr Frankel appeared for a chat, but the driving segments with MrP - and his insights of course - were good.

I like him because he wrote so much that I read in Autocar back in the late 80s/early 90s but I cannot abide him on a podcast. This was sort of tolerable but yes, that was not the section I enjoyed most.

TI podcasts are something I can no longer bear to listen to, but the Youtube channel is OK (subject to Frankel).

I cannae make out what from here you mean about Mr. P's cornering (not the largest or clearest view atm).
I like Mr. Frankel's written work but agree he isn't the most natural on screen, not the end of the world with vids like this.
I wish they'd discussed or even just mentioned which is best for corrosion resistance :(

That's absolutely mental  I know he's probably leaving a fair bit on the table for safety but those speeds in a road car.... Code brown.

Estre is masterful 8-) but RS-model 911's are so far track biased now. Mentioned it briefly in the fleet report thread, but the pace of Chris Hoy's 992.2 GT3RS and THIS GT2RS at Anglesey - both running Michelin Cup2R's - was (were?) hugely impressive. (Obviously having highly capable and experienced pilots helps somewhat, but) - totally different level.

I don't have the info to hand, but I expect lap times of the former are closer to proper slick-shod race 992's than they are to an entry level 911 road car. :geek:

edit: This isn't a full picture, but an interesting comparison of GT3RS vs GT3 Cup. RS measures up to 1.67G lateral in the faster turns :o
