Testarossa Engine Blanking Plates

Post by Sundayjumper »

What are these blanking plates for ? There's one above each cylinder, both sides, the only thing I can think of is to inspect the big ends ? Seems unusual. Not sure if it's a mirror image on the underside.

Could be an EGR route, if the local market demanded it?

Is it a one piece block? If it is then surely it’s to tighten con rods into the crank?

Bingo, that would explain it. I suspected it was something to do with the bolts but I couldn't quite think what/why.
