I have a lot of headroom but I'm only 6'1, my friend is 6'3 and he fits in with lots of room to spare, not a lot of room in the back for legs however.

I can make the seat go back far enough so I can't touch the pedals though

One the same spec as mine would be a lot more economical on a run, and will still pass the alleged speed limiter at 155, which certainly doesn't seem to exist!

I'd probably buy this though, just because, why not?

Is that a transverse mounted V8?!
There can’t be many v8s with that layout in the world?!
As @16vCento pointed out, the XC90 has the same layout, as does the Lancia Thema 8.32.
Loads of Cadillacs with the transverse northstar v8 in the mid 90s

Alfasud is fixed! The brakes are no longer broken.

Had to buy a new battery as even after charging for two days the old one didn’t have enough grin to even turn the engine over.

Then replaced a small water hose as I’d spotted a leak. As I went to remove the second of the hose clamps it split in half, so was barely clamping and would have been the source of the leak😅

Other than that, it’s running nicely, 60 miles done today. Very happy.
Cheers, Harry

Nice. Are you sharing details, or keeping us in suspenders?
It must be the white Giulia Quadrifoglio surely?
It is a QV, but in Comp Red. Couldn't agree on a price on the white one.

Transverse V8s are for virgins, only four cylinders wide. The transverse straight six is the true chad move.

I absolutely love these. I don't have the balls for the bills, but they are sensational cars.

You win the internet. 8-)

So this is the new car thread now?

My turn

German

Air cooled

RWD

Something to keep me busy in the garage :D

It's a definite 20 foot car and the photo is very complimentary but it's rock solid. Apparently "patina" is the latest buzz word in VW circles so it'll fit right in.

No, this is the not-quite-arrived new car thread. This definately deserves it own thread for a new arrival! That looks very clean from 20ft. Very left field choice though! New post with more pictures needed.

That looks lovely John. I’m not sure what changes were made to the updated version which my mother had (a 1972 I think) but the earlier headlights look so much better. It’s not early enough to be 6V is it?

I won’t be telling you that the soft top version of this is better 😄

Paging @Gavster ! He had several air cooled VWs BITD. He will very very much approve of this.

You now have a way to measure of how into cars your friends are- ask them to pop the frunk and check the coolant levels for you

We tried yesterday. We went to see this one:

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-detail ... 5029285352

It was good. First time we've driven an i3, and first time I've driven an EV of any kind. I quite liked it. It certainly did not leave me thinking "wow I wish this had a smelly noisy IC engine vibrating the car the whole time". Regenerative braking was not as weird as I expected and actually felt quite natural. Wife was very excited about (wireless) Carplay. She listens to a lot of audiobooks so easily transferring to the car is nice.

However they would not budge on price AND wanted a £299 "preparation fee" on top of the asking price. I would have gone up to asking price but the extra £299 riled me and we declined.

Not an entirely wasted journey, it's confirmed we're on the right track, and I can go look at others without dragging my wife along. I'm even tempted to buy from Cinch if the right colour / spec comes up. Their prices are decent, free delivery, and 14 day return policy if you really hate it. That would have saved me a lot of stress with the RR.

That one is sold already so clearly the awful admin fee didn’t put someone off.

I had similar feelings about the lack of an ICE engine in the ID Buzz, and the regents being intuitive. Glad I did because it gave me a comparison to feel immediately how the BYD Seal was deficient.

Yeah, I just noticed that. It wasn't sold at about midday yesterday when we left and they've had it since May so it's quite a coincidence for it to suddenly sell now ! I suspect shenanigans or moving stock around. I'll check in a week or so to see if a new logbook has been issued.
