Yesterday I was heading to Waitrose and I stood out of the way of a guy coming down a narrow entrance to the shop carrying two sherry trifles. He said “Thanks” and I said “Well, you look like a man not to be trifled with!” and to his credit he said “good one.”

It absolutely made my day. Set ups for jokes like that don’t come your way all the time and I am very pleased to have batted that one right back.
