Brundlegate
Brundlegate
I wasn't aware of this 'til I saw Marty-B's tweet this morning.
I assume this is in reaction to (other) people talking about it....
Martin's Tweet/X: It is me who should be apologising to Sir Brian May, not him to me for the gridwalk on Sunday at Silverstone. I didn’t address him as Sir Brian, and I shouldn’t have approached him twice when he wasn’t up for a chat on live TV. Nobody is ever obliged to talk to me on the grid, or anywhere else for that matter.
The INCIDENT in question.

Re: Brundlegate
I saw it, all seemed like standard grid walk stuff to me.
Re: Brundlegate
I think Brundle should question him further about whether he prefers Anita Dobson to Theresa May, or Teresa May who starred in the Prodigy's Smack My Bitch Up video.

Re: Brundlegate
Storm in a teacup - brundle has to be a little intrusive - he's live on camera and trying to get instant results in a busy/noisy environment. Sounded like he was pretty polite about the whole thing.

Re: Brundlegate
Brian was anxious because he was more than 250m from a badger and didn't want to start screaming in panic on the grid.

Re: Brundlegate
Brian May - was a bit of a cunt. Third option in the poll is the actual rule now I believe.
Also I think he’s a bit of a cunt regardless, one of those people who likes to think of themselves as an environmentalist that enjoys telling other people how they should behave whilst doing the complete opposite.
Should have had Stormzy waving the flag, he was at the track and a genuine fan…

How about not having a sig at all?
Re: Brundlegate
I'm sure that Sir Brian - environmentalist - would not be one of those flying in and out of Silverstone by helicopter.Mito Man wrote: Wed Jul 10, 2024 9:36 am Also I think he’s a bit of a cunt regardless, one of those people who likes to think of themselves as an environmentalist that enjoys telling other people how they should behave whilst doing the complete opposite.
Re: Brundlegate
Looks like [4] was the outcome, although maybe not simultaneously.
Still not got over Brian May calling Jean-Michel Jarre 'Jean-Paul Jarre' at the end of being on stage with him in front of a very large number of people.

Re: Brundlegate
I'm glad someone chose option 9, but for clarity, I'm not apologising. Not till Scarborough Sea-life World gives me back my property.
Re: Brundlegate
Option 3, but only because he wasn’t just there to experience the event, he was waving the chequered flag at the end of the race- therefore part of the event and should have spoken to Martin even if it was just to say “I’m looking forward to waving the flag at the end of the race”

Complete non-event, which is why Horny Spice should apologise.

Re: Brundlegate
I had no idea it was even a thing, but common sense would suggest its a complete non-event, although is there not some sort of implied obligation to talk to someone like him given you're a celeb who has blagged their way onto the grid in the first place? So you play the game because you're a fan and part of the event etc?
Cheers,
Mike.

Re: Brundlegate
I don’t think it’s particularly difficult, even if you have no knowledge of the subject, to say something like “I’m a new fan and just want the best man to win”
You know, the way a normal human being would react.
Imagine if every time you met someone and one of you didn’t know something and responded by walking away

Re: Brundlegate
I don't blame him at all, that's what staff are for. His media person should have told him what to expect and told him what to say. Their fuck up IMO.
Re: Brundlegate
Thanks to Sky now having pre race - race - post race - programs, I can avoid the build up so wasn't aware. Non event though. Brundle shouldn't badger national treasures...
