No F1 thread?
Re: No F1 thread?
Thought if he pitted on the same lap as Verstappen or just one lap after he’d have overtaken him. Each pit stop he came out behind traffic, lost 5-6, seconds which he made up again. Just seemed like McLaren/Lando thought the car had way more race pace than it actually had.

Re: No F1 thread?
One of the more interesting Spanish GPs.
The end result is familiar, but the rest are definitely closing. Yes, the mclaren strategy was a bit middle of the road, neither one thing or the other and seemed to make things more difficult than they needed to be.
Still, 2nd place, only a couple of seconds behind and fastest lap, can’t grumble too much.
Perez again. 8th, the biggest gap between team mates in the whole field.

I’m wondering if it’s advantageous to not win the constructors championship with the stupid sliding aerodynamic scale which seems to finally be hurting Red Bull - apparently Perez also brings in far more in Red Bull sales to Latin America than the constructors is worth.
Ideally you’d win the drivers championship and come third in the constructors.

There are a number of drivers on the grid that I’d prefer to see make way for new talent, and I like this guy, but the new contract is difficult to understand.integrale_evo wrote: Sun Jun 23, 2024 8:21 pm Perez again. 8th, the biggest gap between team mates in the whole field.
Re: No F1 thread?
Think mito might be into something. How can we finish first with max but second as a team? Keep Perez and as a bonus we don’t look like cunts
Re: No F1 thread?
Sorry you’re stuck with lance. Here, have a car
Re: No F1 thread?
It's a nice car but £2 million is a laughable price for something like that.

Sprint race demonstrating why having 2 fast teammates may be a disadvantage.

Max back to his old "racing" style

Re: No F1 thread?
Good to see pro drivers recognising it - even when they are a “racin is rubbin” ex BTCC hero). Max is a dick.
Re: No F1 thread?
Best bit was his post race interview where he blamed the shape of the corner

Re: No F1 thread?
Well that was exciting!
He’s always been a dick, and now he’s got competition and is rattled it’s showing up again.
Perez 7th, would have been 8th if Lando was still in it…

That was a good watch. Shame about Lando's race, he deserved better.
Max being Max comes as no surprise.

Just seen that Perez had a massive hole in his sidepod - lap 1 collision with Piastri.
Also Hamilton crashed with Sainz on lap 1 too. But fist sized hole in his sidepod but also smashed the floor.

Re: No F1 thread?
There were a lot of penalties going on in that race. And is it just me that is sick of the "cry baby" routine of most drivers complaining on their radios about someone having made an infringement? I know you have to do everything to gain an advantage but it's getting a bit wanky now - Lando was the worst for it. Sounded like a 5yo complaining to his teacher at times.
Re: No F1 thread?
Yep, it's the football equivalent of feigning an injury. I think the stewards got lucky that Lando and Max took themselves out otherwise they'd still be trying to figure out the result with Max needing an investigation for moving under braking and Lando's track limits violations.
