Out of 300,000,000 people the fact that the 2 on stage were who they are, makes me wonder if politicians shouldn’t be randomly drawn from a hat from CEOs around the country !

why CEOs though? If all you want is financial success then that might work, but is that what people want from a government - every decision based on what makes the boss richer.

Off the back of that disastrous debate for Biden it feels like Trump could win the election for me which could be quite bad news for Ukraine - Europe and consequently us.
How about not having a sig at all?

People who actually know the area

I’m not querying why people vote for him though, I’m wondering why you always feel the need to jump to the defense of folk like him.

It could be no end of professions but if they can make a large business work then all the different aspects of a country working might be a similar job, albeit massive.

Keep profits at 5% overall for a slush fund, when we’ve made too much knock a percent off of VAT and send everyone a Christmas card.

As I think it’s very 1 sided, politics never is.

The media is a horrible thing on both sides but so much hatred for someone who millions see as a great leader makes me question what I read.

I’d feel the same if this was everyone saying how evil Biden was and how it’s so obvious he is, not everyone can be right or wrong.

I've made people redundant and fired people who haven't performed for the success of the company and keeping profits up - I think that approach would be terrible for running a country..

Are you serious? What is it about Trump and Farage that you think we’re not seeing after years of them never fucking off?

That the dems thinks that quiet, reserved Biden is a good candidate to put up against a lying, loudmouthed cunt clearly doesn't understand what's happened to politics since social media became a major influence on politics - frankly, the Dem PR people need fucking slapping.

This is about Trump.

Trump is clearly appealing to huge numbers of people. I’m certainly not smarter than all of them them so what am I not seeing ? Is the media making it look far worse and hiding Bidens naughty dealings. If you can’t see it that’s fine, millions do though and that’s also fine.

We will never know but he seems to be doing pretty well at the minute.

As I’ve said many many times and am bored of repeating. So much hatred being thrown one way makes me dubious, especially when you see people screaming and losing their temper.

I’m very glad not to live in America.

I only mentioned Farage as you were doing the same thing for him a few days ago.

there is reams of evidence that Trump is a compulsive liar and a bully. There’s also reams of evidence that Biden won’t stop Israel burning Gaza to the ground, which is the main reason that the American left is pulling away from the dems, along with the shameful way they’ve been allowing legislation that removes rights from women and lgbtq+ people.

If you choose to believe conspiracies over that it’s on you but don’t make out you’re being sensible.

Your inability to understand why someone voted as they did is a bit odd. I could see why someone would vote for the Greens even if I think they are a terrible party.

Dave!
I can’t understand why anyone would vote for a man who has already been impeached three times and was recently convicted of a federal crime.

I’m not sure why that makes me odd tbh.

As far as your “100,000,000 people can’t be wrong” theory, clearly they can be or McDonalds wouldn’t be the biggest restaurant brand in the world.
I find this logic mind-bending. It sounds like you suggesting that the voters who sided with the majority in a democratic vote are wrong? The fundamental point of a political democracy is that whichever candidate is supported by the majority of voters is correct in the eyes of the people. I can see why your personal opinion would be that Trump is wrong, and I agree with you, however your personal opinion has sod all to do with an election result, it's the balance of votes in totality that matters.

I always feel that anyone who cannot see the appeal of Trump is being disingenuous. He's loud, brash, boastful, rich (questionably), he hustles, eats McDonalds, drinks Coke and fundamentally represents many ideals of American culture. On the surface that makes him look like a great personality to vote for. Of course he's a lying idiot, but a lot of people simply don't see that. The pro-Trump propaganda is very strong.

I’m not sure how you can separate the person from the vote tbh.

I’ll always see the trump presidency as wrong just like I’ll always see brexit as wrong.

I don’t go around moaning about it all the time and I’d never be a dick to someone for the way they voted. They were still wrong though.

I can’t imagine the cognitive dissonance needed to see a decision you don’t agree with happen and just shrug with a “well, it’s the will of the people”.

It’s a universal truism that most people individually are alright but in large groups we’re awful.

The bit in bold is where we differ. I don’t think people are wrong to vote for whoever they like, it’s just a different outlook.

To uphold the long running internet tradition, there were elections held in 1933 in Germany that led to the supposed will of the people being followed too.

(And yes, I know the huge holes in this argument and I'm not in any way comparing either side to the parties involved and methods of obtaining those votes!)

In a roundabout way this is why I think like I do. We are taught in school that the Germans were the nasties in WW2, but it doesn’t mean all Germans were Jew killing far right people full of hate.

5 minutes on YouTube will both sides compared to that though 😂
