same as the M3s these days - they really should have planned it better in an all new car.Mito Man wrote: Thu Jun 27, 2024 11:40 pm The rear door on the new M5 looks odd, the arch sticks out too much for it. They really needed to have made a new wider door skin for it.

We then put Duncs Elise on the roof, with him sitting in it, along with a passenger seat full of Bucky and we still don't weigh more than the new M5. Probably.

Looks like a glitch in the over-processed images. Doesn't actually look like that at all.Mito Man wrote: Fri Aug 16, 2024 11:09 am Oh ffs, shouldn’t have read the comments, now the arse is ruined for me too
I don't think it would - the limit on width of door opening will be at the top of the panel where it meets the window line, or possibly just a touch lower in line with the door handle and that whole area sits flush with the rear 1/4 as it is so is fine. Hence a flare on the lower section wouldn't create an issue, but would 100% look less like they've cheaped out.Jobbo wrote: Fri Aug 16, 2024 11:38 am If the outer edge of the door were pushed out, it would make the car materially less easy to get out of in a confined space such as a car park without any benefit. They look fine in the real world, as the M3 demonstrates.
