Re: For the FTAO of JL
It was indeed ! A white one. Slightly scene-ified but fairly tasteful.
Re: For the FTAO of JL
I think I've seen that as well (probably on the M25).

Re: For the FTAO of JL
Towed from the rear bumper ???

They’re for a bike rack or similar.
Re: For the FTAO of JL
Thought perhaps for some silly extra bumper or something, not as tow points. America is land of the big bumper after all

I watched the DVLA auction which ran until yesterday. There were some 4-character plates for less than £4k including all fees - which feel like they add a fuck of a lot when buying from the DVLA but it's because the bid is exclusive of VAT; the fee is 7%+VAT and then there's the £80 transfer fee on top.
https://dvlaauction.co.uk/auction/B265/8VYF (£3700 inc fees)
https://dvlaauction.co.uk/auction/B265/8UKB (£3945)
https://dvlaauction.co.uk/auction/B265/2PUF (£3945)
https://dvlaauction.co.uk/auction/B265/9PBT (£3996)
https://dvlaauction.co.uk/auction/B265/9NUY (£3932)
https://dvlaauction.co.uk/auction/B265/6NUG (£3983)
https://dvlaauction.co.uk/auction/B265/4NHJ (£3958)
https://dvlaauction.co.uk/auction/B265/6EBR (£3804)
I think my learning there is that the cheapest 4-character plate (not a Northern Irish plate) is 3 letters, later in the auction and with at least one less common initial in it. Not a surprise. I did ponder bidding on 6NUG and 9NUY because I quite liked them but not to the tune of £4000. I'd rather spend a bit more and get a more attractive plate or have a suffix plate like either of these:
https://dvlaauction.co.uk/auction/B265/OFF1F
https://dvlaauction.co.uk/auction/B265/TOA4D - I think this was a bit of a bargain to be honest at £1942 all in.
Interesting that there's no sniping; any bids placed in the last half hour extend the end time for that plate's auction by half an hour.

I saw 8X on a really tatty looking Bentley going into a petrol station this evening. I think it was a 90s continental, but not super familiar with that age of Bentley.
