Collecting cars
Re: Collecting cars
Suggestion that Chris Harris has left Collecting Cars here - no idea if it is accurate?
Re: Collecting cars
He must have enough of a profile to start putting stuff out himself.
Not sure that he would be a good fit with Hagerty, there were a few American youtubers who pulled their partnerships as it wasn't working for them and got the impression that Hagerty are quite strict on what they put out.

An absolute unit
Re: Collecting cars
Maybe its contractual issues with his new BBC thing and can't be seen promoting commercial enterprises?

Re: Collecting cars
Ive missed the podcast for the last few weeks, happy that it isnt gone for good.
Re: Collecting cars
I still don't understand how CC is a thing. Upward of £7k per advert that seeminly offers nothing that PH and AT don't do for £20 other than add a timer. Crazy.
Edit - yes I'm aware that it's free to list, buyer pays it.

Re: Collecting cars
They massively undervalued my mx5, circa £7k less than a car on autotrader that had done 20k more miles and was standard.Matty wrote: Wed Jun 12, 2024 7:22 pm I still don't understand how CC is a thing. Yip, I thought there was an issue with the feed but looks like he's just moved on to pastures new (again).MikeHunt wrote: Wed Jun 12, 2024 6:23 pm Ive missed the podcast for the last few weeks, happy that it isnt gone for good.
Cheers,

Re: Collecting cars
It's utterly pretentious beyond words and a certain type lap it up. Money for old rope.Matty wrote: Wed Jun 12, 2024 7:22 pm I still don't understand how CC is a thing. Upward of £7k per advert that seeminly offers nothing that PH and AT don't do for £20 other than add a timer. Crazy
You settle up, I'll go get the Jag.
Re: Collecting cars
Are you talking about the podcast or the auction website? Applies to both but the podcast is oddly enjoyable.tim wrote: Wed Jun 12, 2024 9:58 pmIt's utterly pretentious beyond words and a certain type lap it up. Re: Collecting cars
The website. I've never listened to the podcast

Re: Collecting cars
Did Porter list his RR on CC? Maybe that's a(nother) reason for the departure of the Monkey, not wanting to be associated with the ongoing saga of the sale.
Re: Collecting cars
Must have missed this...what happened to Porter and his RR?
Oui, je suis un motard.
Re: Collecting cars
This is as much as is known (I'll have to go back and see if it was CC);
Re: Collecting cars
Yep, it was on CC; https://collectingcars.com/for-sale/201 ... obiography
Re: Collecting cars
I did wonder why there’s been no content for the last 5 or so weeks. ‘Twas a good podcast, can’t see it being the same without ‘arris.
Re: Collecting cars
I don't find the podcast particularly pretentious TBH, what about it do you think is pretentious?Jobbo wrote: Thu Jun 13, 2024 8:44 amAre you talking about the podcast or the auction website? Re: Collecting cars
It’s a decent bunch of quite privileged chaps of a certain age - it’s pretty pretentious generally. But I enjoy it.
Re: Collecting cars
I gave up on it ages ago after the more annoying ones (there's a couple) would just talk over the top of the rest and one old fart would just bang on about how Japanese cars are all souless.Jobbo wrote: Sun Jun 16, 2024 8:31 pm It’s a decent bunch of quite privileged chaps of a certain age - it’s pretty pretentious generally. My limited podcast time is far better spent on Smith n Sniff.
