That's a reasonable result.

Obviously with changing the car came the need to change the insurance. I pay mine monthly. Twingo was £40 per month. For the focus they want….

£16. Couldn’t believe it, was definitely expecting to be raped and pillaged for changing vehicle mid policy, but apparently not

I've found that mid policy changes aren't that bad. Be interesting to see how much they want for a full year's policy come renewal time.

My Audi renewal invitation came through today. With AXA, they told me my last year's premium was £896 (I didn't realise it was that much to be honest - it was a change after a month or so when I got my new car) and the renewal was £1619. The meerkat got it down to £938 and since I've renewed at my new address I haven't had to do a change of address during the policy which is useful. I think our current address is about as low risk as anywhere, while the new place isn't exactly high risk but is slightly higher. Maybe due to people driving into floods in Worcestershire - it's not that far from here:

Nicely done 8-)

I've got a quote that's ~£160 less I've had so far (subject to double checking it is exactly like-for-like), but from a company I haven't heard of. Looking at ins. co. reviews, my current lot - LV - come out well, so currently trying to value the potential lack of hassle against the likelihood of claiming in the first place.

Paid £430 last year for the Previa.
Renewal for CRV £950 (One claim, me added as a named driver).
Comparison site with matching details, £710.
Putting myself as main driver (as Jen is going to do a degree) £470.

^ :? but good you got the price 8-)

I thought I'd got a good quote until I read things through fully - no foreign cover. Ffs
It looks like I'll end up renewing with the company I'm with at 15% over last year, dangerously close to the amount Rich is paying for his M2

I still don't quite believe that quote... I'm kind of dreading next year in case it was a massive computer error in my favour!

Got renewal through this morning, currently with Aviva. Going up £108 a year to £388- still cheaper than a confused quote by about £150 though

Esure's renewal quote went up from £500 to £570. Price comparisons got me to £526 and a phone call got Esure down to £470.

The only change in the esure details was dropping to 5k miles from 7k and a change of industry I work in from engineering to Healthcare as I'm now one of those NHS middle management wankers. 8-)

There's literally no logic to all this, is there!

I had an email from my insurer saying that they can’t offer to renew my insurance on the quad bike over a month ago. Forgot about it and went searching again last night as the weather is getting better. Same insurer which said they can’t insure me came up again cheapest at £150 🤷‍♂️
Idiots.

There’s really not much choice for quad bike insurance, weirdly from an insurance perspective they seem to be classed as motorbikes, so as soon as I say I don’t have a motorbike license and it’s 520cc most of them decline.
How about not having a sig at all?

I've never been given a lower price by calling my current insurer. I don't even bother asking any more. It usually goes that I call them up to cancel, they give me a massive spiel about letting them look at the price, I tell them they should have given me their best price in the first place, we part ways.

I thought they had to offer the best price in the renewal since the recent rule changes so they always try to use some bullshit excuse like changing the mileage a bit, or massively undervaluing the car.

Up from £230 on the Mini to £790 on the renewal! :o

When I went on to "not renew" it offered me a discount to renew of abou £100 off.

I am now insured with another insurer for £360. I suspect a dair whack of the increase may have been due to the double theft as this will be the first proper renewal since. Still galling.
