are we supposed to know/remember what Steve is?NGRhodes wrote: ↑Sat Apr 06, 2024 7:49 pm Treated Steve to a few parts.
Struts cost less than the bits of plastic (covers for where the roof bars bolt on).
Hopefully weather holds out to finish off the dashcam wiring tomorrow.
Steve also needs tyres rotating (continental cross contact, which are mild off road tyres).

I was thinking more about the doing the hokey cokey and then you turn around, but you do you.Sundayjumper wrote: ↑Sat Apr 06, 2024 8:46 pm You’re asking if I’ve got something to put in, then out, repeatedly?
Just get informed consent first, aye?

Re: Your fleet running reports
Propshaft donut turned up so today I stuck the propshaft back on, the cleaned up brackets, the repaired heat shields, attached the exhaust with nuts and bolts.
I had to make a new bracket which holds the exhaust downpipe to the gearbox as the old one just fell to bits.
Put the car on the ground and it moves. We have drive and a nice light clutch pedal. Always a bit of a worry after doing a clutch change!
Need to give the brakes a pressure bleed just to make sure all the air is out then get it out for a test run.
Have also taxed the ‘sud for the year ( for free, but still, means I can start using it )

Re: Your fleet running reports
When leaving the hotel this morning the Galaxy sounded rortier than normal. I think we've got an exhaust leak.
Had a good rummage underneath (as best possible in a carpark) and couldn't see anything obvious with regards to the droopy exhaust, so I think it needs to go on a lift to properly see. That'll be next week.

I thought it’s the rib that has to be removed?Sundayjumper wrote: ↑Sun Apr 07, 2024 9:02 amIt’s all about that tricky fifth vertebrae. Once it’s removed I’ll be able to reach.
How about not having a sig at all?
Re: Your fleet running reports
indeed - surely removing vertebrae would basically mean you won't be reaching for anything. Ever.Mito Man wrote: ↑Sun Apr 07, 2024 9:30 amI thought it’s the rib that has to be removed?Sundayjumper wrote: ↑Sun Apr 07, 2024 9:02 amIt’s all about that tricky fifth vertebrae. I was just joking guys. I didn't realise we had actual experts on the forum.

Skimming through this thread I spotted someone called Propshaft Donut. He sounds like an intellectual titan if ever there was one.Sundayjumper wrote: ↑Sun Apr 07, 2024 12:41 pm I was just joking guys. I didn't realise we had actual experts on the forum.

Richard Herring has done some actual research and it’s not as uncommon as you might think to be flexible enough. Not sure he’s on the forum though.Sundayjumper wrote: ↑Sun Apr 07, 2024 12:41 pm I was just joking guys. I didn't realise we had actual experts on the forum.
[Edit] I realise I should add for clarity - he found a percentage of men can achieve it naturally, not that there are significant numbers removing a vertebra or rib to do so

Are they flexible or absurdly well endowed?

Re: Your fleet running reports
I think it is safe to assume we've got an exhaust leak...
Exhaust pipe was rusted nearly all the way through, hanging on by a thread. The box was dangling so low it was scraping, so there was nothing for it but to get it off.
Car is now very loud.

Guess the only solution now is a full custom stainless exhaust with a decat pipe

An actual propshaft coupling / donut / guibo / flex disk / whatever you want to call it

Re: Your fleet running reports
The ML died on the wife when at my parents house.
Lots of faffing as I’m away with work, recovered to a trusted garage and it’s the fuel pump fuse. All working fine now but will need some investigating and most likely a preventative new pump will be going on.

Re: Your fleet running reports
Currently sat waiting at a garage while they fit a new exhaust. They need to cut more of the pipe than they expected as it is not looking great.
Well get it up on a ramp when we're back home to have it gone over properly to see if there's something more that needs doing.
Can't remember the last time I was in a place that stank of cigarettes. Can't say I miss it.
