Why did they benchmark the styling on the unsuccessful Fiat 124 Spider?

I quite like the front end and bonnet, but it just looks exactly like what I'd expect a new Z4 to look like. And that's kind of been the case the last few generations. Do they sell many these days?

It looks exactly how I expect the new SLK to look. The concept car was a stunning thing and this is just all very average.
Hope the Supra is better but even that looked crap in camo.

It does look very fiat 124.

Looks like it’s a Saturn not a BMW. But the Saturn Sky was actually quite good looking.

The grille is basically just a Kia stinger with the middle filled in

I don't like the small square plate on the BMW either.

It carries the annoying BMW trait of not bringing the bonnet up to the grill so they have a gash horizontal line going right across like an afterthought. Also no space for a numberplate so it will look even worse with one on.

Most of that frontal re-design will be pedestrian safety regs rather than bean counting I would expect.

I like the idea of the Z4M, especially if it’s as good to drive as they’re saying/hoping and can be had with a manuel; a sort of convertible M2 with a decent boot.
