Well I am very much hoping it is an engine mount. THen work out what is causing te brake orange light and pop some air in to get rid of the air pressure light and swap out the coroded subframe and it may just get through an MOT.

that will be an abs sensor or the reluctor ring.

£350 per hour, and I always round up. So at least she saved a fiver.

I've just spoken to Autotrans and the BMW is currently in bit. Parts are on their way in and it's on schedule.

I've asked them to change the Diff oil and look for the water leak as they're the same labour rate as the BMW Specialist down the road.

I was hoping for a Jimny update. Probably not worth measuring the fuel consumption; it's really not great for a 1.3 kei-car

I bloody love the Jimny. It's terrible. It's noisy, small, slow, and impractical. I've averaged 29 mpg over 200 miles which is pretty.... average. It's utterly charming, mechanical and analogue and rewards forward planning. The kids love it as it's an adventure and hate it as they can't stream music and folding the kids into the back seat is hilarious.

Getting back into a manuel was easier than I expected and having the indicators on the right hand side of the wheel was more of a struggle. If I had the cash, I'd want one.

That’s why I doubt I’d ever sell it It might not get much use but it’s a lovable little spud. And feels so solid, which is exactly the opposite of what I’d expect from a small Japanese box.

Decided to tackle the long running issue of the interior lights on the 928. They've never worked as long as I've had the car. They turn on when you switch the light in the always on position but don't work with the doors opening. Strangely, they do work with the hatch. Relay seems to work (although I've bypassed it for now) so I thought the door pin switches were the culprit. A bit of investigating and it looks like some comedian has been in there before as the wires going to each pin switch have continuity to ground, so the pin switch is switching ground to ground. I suspect someone has connected the pin switch wire to the wrong connector pin of the door harness. Luckily I have a full wiring diagram for the car so I should be able to pull the harness connectors off and check. I've also replaced the shit OEM Hella interior light fixtures with ones from a VW Passat - it's a common 928 upgrade and with LED bulbs look really nice.
