There was a spate of people pushing them into the canals in Amsterdam a few years back.

For those of you who don't know, Tom Scott is, at least, taking a well earned break from YouTube. His goodbye vid is superbly fitting.

Re: Randomness
It's been a full ten years, I often wondered if he'd left enough time for the experiences he'd had to sink in. I wish him well.
Re: Randomness
Nice video as well. I hope that was a mannequin at the end
With over 6m subscribers and a video each week, would he have made enough to essentially retire, assuming he’s not been too profligate with the earnings? I’m sure quite a bit will have been spent on all the travel.
Re: Randomness
Think it was genuine, no mannequin. He says in the vid he's always wanted to do it but never found an excuse to. That music looks like it was written just for the vid too; nice work. I hope he comes back to doing similar work in the future, even if less regularly - he's very down to earth and a complete natural in front of the camera. One of the rare 'non-influencers', but rather educators and informers.

Re: Randomness
I mean the very end where he's a silhouette against the sky - looked rather high up!
Re: Randomness
I mean, if you're gonna get lifted by a chopper, might as well go high up at least once. Otherwise what's the point? you could just get picked up by a crane.

Imagine the insurance claim if this capsized
Re: Randomness
Yup, if you watch it on the big screen you'll see he actually slowly raises his arms a little! Maybe he doesn't have vertigo, or maybe he was just drunk. Who knows?
Never too late to watch 520 videos....

Re: Randomness
There’s a thread on Seloc where a guy has applied to renew his HGV licence and filled out the alcohol intake question to say he has 12 pints a week. They’ve refused his application based on that but the DVLA has also taken his car and motorbike licences off him too!
Doesn’t sound right. Can they do that or is he not telling the whole story?
