That really is gross. I like the wheels, I think the back end is its best angle. Still rubbish but has a bit of a purposeful Porsche 935 race car thing going on.

Re: Today’s want
I could cope with the front. The design team the did the front, as far as the A pillar are OK. It’s just shame they never had any conversations with the design team doing the rest of the car.mik wrote: Wed Nov 15, 2023 3:13 pm Initially I thought the front was as ugly as fuck.![]()
But then so saw the sides and the rear, and the front no longer looks so bad.![]()

It's the 'snooker table felt' like alcantara that gets me.integrale_evo wrote: Wed Nov 15, 2023 5:27 pm That really is gross. I like the wheels, I think the back end is its best angle. Still rubbish but has a bit of a purposeful Porsche 935 race car thing going on.

I mean, green leather in something like a jag has 'gentlemens club' appeal, but that just looks slapdash and terrible, in a car that already looks slapdash and terrible.

Re: Today’s want
They look like e30 vents to me, the door release handles, rear view mirror and interior light are all from an e36, but may have been used on others. The seats are from an e31.
It wouldn’t matter if they all fitted properly and it was finished nicely ( although I’m sure Alfa made something suitable for all of those parts ) but as it’s looks like a poor diy kit car effort, the random bits from elsewhere just make it look even worse!

Yes, you're right. Obviously! They reminded me slightly of my dad's Vauxhall Combi in the 90s.integrale_evo wrote: Wed Nov 15, 2023 10:54 pm They look like e30 vents to me, the door release handles, rear view mirror and interior light are all from an e36, but may have been used on others. Im sat in a boring zoom call, which is why Im on auto trader.
I never owned a 16v 106 or saxo, but I remember a much younger me really wanting one. There is something about these, but a full fat Clio cup is probably more sensible way to spend a similar amount of money.

Not sure that's £8k's worth! 106 Rallye was the better bet...remember seeing 106 Quicksilvers everywhere back in the day!
Always liked my 106XSi.

If you want a tiny 1.6l hot hatch go buy a twingo. Mines in need of some love at the moment and is still an absolute hoot to drive. If you’re serious about looking for something join the twingo owners club on Facebook as there’s always a few for sale, often for the 2k ish mark if you’re not bothered about mileage. There’s also ones come up quite often with 2l Clio engines in

At 8k, it’s not great value, sure they were half this not so long ago.Matty wrote: Thu Nov 16, 2023 5:12 pm Not sure that's £8k's worth! 106 Rallye was the better bet...remember seeing 106 Quicksilvers everywhere back in the day!

Re: Today’s want
Is it ok to want this car, but only from this angle?

So maybe they can do something so I never have to see it from this angle?

And not have to pay £240,000 for it please?
Oh, and if you could replace the rusty screws on the steering wheel first please...

Re: Today’s want
I can’t decide if the area around the front plate reminds me more of a person with a very bad cocaine habit or an old person who is smiling without their dentures in place.
How about not having a sig at all?
Re: Today’s want
Always, always liked the Elan...potentially due to many hours spent on Lotus Turbo Challenge. This colour suits it well...some lower suspension needed.

Re: Today’s want
I really quite enjoyed working on Gavster's Smart last week, so I'm eyeing this up for a bit of fun:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/266521132626
Is the catch. It could easily be a totally borked engine. But for £400 it's super-tempting.Smoky but starts, runs and drives
Re: Today’s want
Elan is
and seems vfm to my unknowledgeable eyes.
