and you had no decorations or pumpkins of any description visible?Jimmy Choo wrote: Wed Nov 01, 2023 11:51 amNo it's not.
I had two knocks last night. There was a group of 4 with awesome makeup who decended on the sweets like a hoard of locust and one young lad who was dressed up as a reaper who I had to call back as he had only taken one sweet and I got him to take a fistful because I was genuinely shocked at the contrast with the previous group.

Correct.
The pumkins that the kids carved are at the back of the house where I can appreciate them.
Perhaps adding a socio-economic bracket into your statement might help. I'm in ChavTown in Gloucester. I imagine your gated community have a somewhat different experience with the security guards to keep the riff raff out.

Around here the kids don’t knock if you don’t have any sort of decoration out, and when our children were young enough to want to go we wouldn’t knock anywhere that didn’t either.

I used to love poring over these comparisons as a kid. Most of the info was completely irrelevant to me, but it was still interesting....

@Jobbo that just made me think of this again

Re: Randomness
I still love that.
The goths in Whitby look a bit less convincing to me these days. It is more like a fancy dress and transvestite party than people who actually live as goths.
