Stopped off in Seaton, there happened to be a small car show on the Esplanade.

Reminds me, I still need to put the round lights on mine 😅

Amazing considering how few are left, how many of the 4 doors are very late 70s red supers the same as mine. Must have been a decent batch 😂

Also spotted, in Seaton Tesco - you know you’re in the country when the magazine rack looks like this:

Spotted this actual car on the drive home last night

Image

Having done a little bit of research, it looks like it's possibly the best example of a Lotus Carlton out there, having had a full nut-and-bolt restore

More info on it here: http://www.lc890g.co.uk/

Also spotted on the way home on the M1/M25 last night:

- a group of E92 M3s driving like complete idiots
- several modded Skylines, including one with the plate DR11FT X
- an original 4 door Skyline (or maybe it was called a Fairlady?)
- some drift-spec Nissan Sylvias (I think, I'm not very 'up' on Japanese cars)
- generally lots of very poor driving

Funny you should mention this...

Our old white Mercedes was NA11 XZX

There's a white Audi A3 which lives a few streets away which is MA11 XZX

Been to the Silverstone festival this weekend (formerly the classic) and the spots were phenomenal- unfortunately for you lot I’m a person that lives in the moment and doesn’t take photos of much stuff- it only occurs to me that I should have took a snap after the fact

Saw an f50 tailed by an f40, first time I’ve ever seen either in the flesh. So much want!

Jealous of this - looked like a great event! Saw an f50 in a showroom for the first time in Hong Kong recently but would have loved to see it on the move - especially in convoy with an f40 8-)

Spotted on the M5 this morning: new shape M2 in Zandvoort blue. Based on the stickers and Milltek-related numberplate I think it was this very car, Milltek's demonstrator:
Image

The blue actually didn't look as bad as I expected - though the purple available on the M240i is lovely so that's what I'd have in preference [ETA: but not available on the M2 unless you can spec a bespote Individual one, possibly]. The Milltek stickers on the sills highlight the almost running-boards between the arches and that doesn't look so clever. In fact it looks like a plastic moulded shell like you'd get from Tamiya before you've trimmed it properly. Overall the impression was of a Nascar silhouette body rather than a solid car - possibly a fun interpretation but it didn't do it for me.

Bizarre spotted. Turned over and an early Gavin & Stacey was on. Broadcast in 2007. On the wall in Gavin’s house: a photo of a Porsche Panamericana concept from 1989. What a strange thing to use in set dressing.

Probably because it wasn't a set, but a real house/bedroom. I don't think they used sets on G+S - it was all on location.
