Today’s want
Re: Today’s want
Awful alloys. Great looking thing, the 400i. But for some bizarre reason I'd rather have a Bitter SC.

Re: Today’s want
Ooh, that MOT advisory list on the Pajero Evo looks a bit worrying! Nice looking car though. From memory, some part of the engine/transmission is fragile and virtually unobtainable now. Been a while since I read that and set aside any idea of owning one, so perhaps it's been solved. But I'm going to stick with the Jimny and test drive an MX5 tomorrow.
Oh, and who the heck would wrap a car with that interior in olive green? FFS.

Re: Today’s want
The 400i has 2 oil filters located above its engine. Maybe it was common back in the old days but that’s the first time I’ve seen a car with 2 oil filters!
How about not having a sig at all?
Re: Today’s want
Isn’t that Porsche the one which was owned by the bald YouTuber? Totally forgotten his name now and I only recognise it because he lived in the same apartment as me for a while and I thought the wrap looked terrible.

Re: Today’s want
It just looks to me to be an MOT tester with a brake line obsession. Shouldn't be a big deal to replace the whole lot.Jobbo wrote: Fri Aug 25, 2023 10:52 am Ooh, that MOT advisory list on the Pajero Evo looks a bit worrying!
I was expecting a rotten shell, that would certainly make it a hard no.
Re: Today’s want
To be honest it was a TL:DR moment, particularly after seeing the first MOT page was for an Alpine A110.Sundayjumper wrote: Fri Aug 25, 2023 11:17 amIt just looks to me to be an MOT tester with a brake line obsession. Re: Today’s want
I followed one of these down the A3 once - was bouncing all over the place on a smooth dual carriageway so I expect it is pretty much a track only car to be honest (assuming the one I saw was stock).scotta wrote: Fri Aug 25, 2023 1:00 pm This looks like decent value.

The track-prepared fully caged ex-race car? I suspect you are right.
Re: Today’s want
Ha - I didn't click on the link (though the "Tow" sticker on the front should have been a giveaway)... Anyway, I'm sure you guessed I was referring to a standard 968 CS

Re: Today’s want
Is this being bought deliberately for the meet on the 2nd?!

Re: Today’s want
Fuck, I'm glad you replied to that - I'd actually forgotten about it

The S6 will be my ride for the meet. Jimmy and I are going to convoy over in our diesel burners

They don't really seem to have changed value in the last 20 years. I remember them being £15-20k forever.Beany wrote: Fri Aug 25, 2023 6:34 pmOof.scotta wrote: Fri Aug 25, 2023 1:00 pm This looks like decent value.

Yeah, does feel like that.
I still fancy a fairly clean (or at least, not rusted out in the sills) 944, but they're all going up in price too.
Not like ten years ago when you could just about pick one up with an MOT for around three grand. Still regret not putting my big boy pants and getting a small loan of three or four grand for a black 944 S2 that needed some five hundred quid of welding, back when I was in Scarborough....
