A Trip to Infinity - on Netflix

Scientists and Philosophers try to get to grips with the concept of Infinity - it's mind blowing stuff and the visuals are amazing.

Sounds like an odd topic but it's well worth a watch

Not watched any yet but strange planet is released today on Apple TV (possibly only a post for @mik as I know he follows the comics on Twitter, not sure if there’s any other fans)

@jamcg Didn't know they were making that. I have a few books (received as gifts) - hope this development works (not that I will know as I don't have appleTV, but I see there is a trailer.

Just watching Good Omens S2

Is it just me or is every car other than Crowleys electric? To the extent that I'll swear I saw an MG5 electric wagon there, dubbed with a (hugely overdone) diesel soundtrack. Lots of Teslas and iPaces etc in shot too.

It seems like a very specific thing to do, unless it was as simple as 'we're in a closed set and electric cars = no emissions'?

Johnny Football - on Netflix

Really good documentary about a colleague football Quarterback, Johnny Manziel, who was tipped to be the next big thing but crashed out in his first season in the NFL due to his partying ways.

Shows the pressure that is put in these 19 and 20 year olds and how easy it is to break

Good Omens S2

Eh, it was fine.

6 so badly sped up driving sections that it must have been deliberate out of 10

I've watched the first episode of the bear, I'm not really getting it - I don't like anyone and don't get the motivation. I am curious though, so will carry on.

It only gets better. I think it is genuinely brilliant, and the final seasons are up there with the very best.

Finished The Expanse. As mentioned previously it was my third go, but this time I got it.

Loads of the usual space TV problems with sound, hard vacuum and the like, but it was not too distracting and it finished on a high with enough closure to leave it, but with options for another series. Just a shame S7 has been cancelled.

At home with the Furys

Fly on the wall following Tyson Fury and his extended family. It's reasonably compelling trashy reality TV. He's a complete loon and everyone around him is at the mercy of his highly temperamental mood. At the same time, he's surprisingly open and vulnerable at times, and I have quite a lot of respect for the way they live their lives, given they have f*ck you money. Particularly the fact his wife prefers driving a Transit to get the kids around and his favourite car is a £500 VW Passat estate.

I'm planning to start a rewatch. Loved the show.

I think S7 is difficult because there is a time jump in the books, so it'd mean a recast or some dodgy CGI/Prosthetics to make them older.

I've not read the books, was thinking I'd start once I'm through the current stack.

A time jump does complicate things a fair bit if you're carrying on with the same characters. I'm reading Seveneves at the moment and that just skipped 5,000 years ahead, solving the character issue.

Aside from the casting issues it can be refreshing to change. It is one of the reasons I gave up on the red/blue/green Mars trilogy. I didn't like the characters, and when it finally looked like they were about to die off, they invented anti-aging technology so they could carry on.

I don't think it was cancelled, per se - IIRC they recognised the time jump would make it complicated.

Honestly I can see them picking it up again in ten years when the actors have aged enough to be closer to the book time jump age.

I binged Wednesday over the weekend.

It's charming and sweet with enough laughs - it's definately a Kids show but very watchable. My 10 year old Niece loves it.

Minor Gripe - Christina Ricci adjusts her glasses in the exact came manner as her character in Yellowjackets. Someone should have called her on it as there's Zero referencing (Unless they're both nods to Velma from Scoobie Doo ??)
