Saw a few interesting cars driving down to Ghent yesterday. No pictures.

W124 E350. Didn't know such a car existed and can't find anything about it (but only done a brief search). Wonder whether it was just a badge job.

BMW i7. Mahoosive. Didn't get a good look as it was passing me at a fair clip. Rear looks too high/awkward. Reminded me of the pre-LCI E65 in the regard.

BMW X7. Even mahoosiver. Also ugly.

Lexus IS-F. Still don't like the exhausts, but it looks a bit mean.

BMW E60 550i estate, looked very cool.

i7 with the illuminated grill seems to be popular in London. I’m just about past the point of involuntarily laughing whenever I see one.

Saw a BMW i7 on the M5 the other day. It is so tall, it looks like a saloon SUV. Niche.

I remember when I was 18 trying to convince my Dad to buy a ropey one of these that I could drive. IIRC correctly it was possible to get a knackered one for £20k ish at the time so they've basically quadrupled in price in 20 years...

If it's any consolation I imagine it is still significantly cheaper to buy that very well restored one you've linked compared to having spent £20,000 20 years ago and then having spent however much it is slowly restoring it to its former glory :D

How to make your real one look like a bad kit car - DIY your own “challenge” grille:

Oh my. Interestingly I believe that may be a Novitec grille (or a copy of one...)

I'm sure this has probably been discussed already but are you considering changing to the challenge grille? Years ago I would have always said it was a mandatory upgrade along with the CS wheels but now I'm not so sure - I think as James May says, "standard" may be better...

It's on my "nice to have" list, which comes after my "definitely needs doing" list (thermostat, central locking, some other small DIYable things), which comes after my "need to get a job" list ;) Buying a Ferrari then almost immediately losing my job is turning out to be a slightly sore point at home right now.

But ignoring that, a brand new replica grille is ~£1200 and a genuine one is double that. Definitely not a high priority. I could be tempted to do a satin wrap just to see how it would look from a distance.

I followed a 360 CS into Telford the other day...they do look great on the road due to the ride height.

Also found out that my sister knows the owner who also owns/runs a Porsche specialist over that way.

I'm still waiting on my invite for a test drive.

Bizarrely, I've seen several 360s recently. A red one on the way back from visiting my Fewwawi Fweind last week, another on the way home from work Monday, and a pair of (what looked like) CS in convoy, a red one & a black one, close to home Wednesday evening.

They're WAY more common than Vantages.

Spotted a Vauxhall Cascada, a nice looking newish big convertible similar in size to an A5. Possibly Insignia based but I've never seen or heard of it prior to today!

Holiday spots.. lots of 992’s; majority are convertibles in Quarteira. 🤷‍♂️ Except for the most stunning dark green 992 GT3 Touring with black interior (maybe should be tan, but I forgive the owner). Black wheels that looked like there was no way they could support a real car just finished it off. I got back to the hotel at 1130pm and it wasn’t there any more; the next morning it was parked with the spoiler in the fixed up position so I like to think someone spanked it late that evening or early morning. I have (disappointing) pics but they’re not great and it’s cumbersome to post, so shan’t ! 😁 also saw two M4 CSLs that look much better than the M3 CS I saw recently.

Lots of other toys, but I really want to congratulate the Cayenne (non-S) coupe driver who parked next to the Lambo Urus that was exactly the same colour! The size, shape, manufactured by VW/Porsche and share lots of components was very obvious to everyone (male at least)! 😂
Cheers,

Ian
