It was a Tesla style screen for a Mk4 Mondeo Titanium, with Android Auto, Apple Carplay, reversing camera support, etc etc. £80.

Similar to this (I saw the listing before it went down)

Id' be extremely wary of a chinese android unit eating up the physical HVAC controls and stuff like the Hazards (probably all replaced with CANbus commands from the head unit), if my crap memory and google image searches don't fail me.

Interesting idea. The overall system in my TittyX is not bad given it's 2008 vintage.

The only real issue I had with it (other than the not-really-updatable satnav) was that it had no Bluetooth audio (Think the MK4.5s had it) but IIRC that can be worked around with a module you plug into the CD changer, or you can upgrade the actual Ford modules themselves to support it - something something USB plugin or something.

I never got around to it.

First thing I did was spend £30 on a 2022 satnav dvd, so that was very easily updatable!

My mate who owned it previous fitted a little rechargeable bluetooth widget that plugs into the aux in in the glovebox

Well clearly I was looking for the wrong DVDs in the wrong places!

I wanted wheel controls for bluetooth, which is where those inline adapters are more useful IIRC

Ultimately I didn't keep the car long enough or really care about it enough to get into the weeds with it for this stuff, especially after I didn't have a use for it (IE wasn't doing 350 miles a weekend).

It took me a while to work it out, the Nav DVD slot is hidden behind the plastic trim that covers the volume knob under the screen. It's spring-loaded and pops out quite easily, with the slot and an eject button.

It's actually not terrible as a nav system. I do use it over Waze sometimes.
