We did a thing (v2)
We did a thing (v2)
So after this nearly 4 years ago, followed by this 30 months ago, our second was born yesterday:
Wow, you never tire of that feeling do you?
GD again this time so she was going to be early again as last time. Because of the nature of the cut during the C-Section last time we were also told that this birth would have to also be a C-section. It was booked for 1st August when she'd be 39+2. Turns out she didn't want to wait and waters broke on Friday evening. Down into hospital yesterday and they said "right, we'll bring the op forward then".
Sienna was born at 6:21PM.
As there was no labour this time things were very different for my wife and luckily she'll have some amazing memories of the birth, rather than previously where all she could remember was nearly strangling me in a headlock in the delivery room. All the staff were wonderful, but my god the anaesthetist was on another level. An English lady who'd spent 18 months living in Brazil, so my wife and her were happily chatting in Portuguese whilst the rest of the crew were at the sharp end.
I'd forgotten how tiny and light newborns are. 3.5kg though, so bigger than Noah.
Honestly this is the last one.
Well done to Rich for calling it out in the second post on my '1 child or 2' thread.

Congratulations!
Quickly checked up on your last threads about the rationale. From my outside perspective, I've always assumed that having two kids makes life hella easier from the ages of 5-13 or so, because they will play with, and harrass each other in the first instance, rather than you.

Thanks everyone!
Well he hasn't met her yet. They're hopefully coming home today. But we've made him completely aware the whole way through as to what's happening so he's ready and waiting for her.DeskJockey wrote: Mon Jul 24, 2023 5:56 am Congratulations! Exciting times ahead. How's v1 reacted to the expansion?

Awesome news !!!
2 are easier, harder, infuriating, adorable, perfect, tears and lovely. It’s more frustrating as you can think what an utter bellend they are at times and still love them to bits.
Dave!

Funny to read my comments on the one or two thread now.
We've gone from: "Seems right now, one is enough... but we've just been through the childbirth bit, so let's see how we feel down the road", to 2.5 years later: one is definitely enough, decision made!
