Idly wasting away my weekend researching stuff, I was surprised to see how tall the intake runners are. The engine itself sits very low down in the car.

When you’re a hoarder and spot an interior the same as your ultra rare alcantara one for sale but it also has a heated rear seat, of course you have to buy it…

Thankfully it just about all fitted inside the car 🤣

So as well as the heated rear seat I also have a set of 4 grey oe door release handles, a less broken rear left speaker grille ( annoyingly it does have a small crack though )

I want to see how easily the front seats come to pieces as I’d quite like to put the new passengers base on my drivers side as the bolster foam is in a lot better shape.

Unfortunately I don’t have anywhere to store them yet 😅😅

Rear seats are already swapped, all the wiring is already there, I just need to add the switches to the centre console and plug in a relay.

I've a vague recollection of trying do do that on mine and failing miserably. A clip that was (or seemed) impossible to get to.

Nothing like as bad as some of you have experienced lately, some fvcker's caught the nsf wing of the A2. No dents because plastic but it won't polish out, and they've scraped the headlight as well.

Any hints and tips for diy tracking? If nothing else to check it's ok (changed front tyres on the derv and don't want to waste them. I had it done a while back when it got new wishbones but it's seen a good few k and potholes since then).

Get a long piece of string and tie it taut round all four wheels - will reveal whether the fronts are toeing in or out much in a basic way.

I’d say if it still drives straight and your tyres look good in a few hundred miles then it’s all good.
How about not having a sig at all?

Not convinced. Consider a slack string ;)

But seriously - this only works if you have identical track front & rear. If not it'll appear there's some toe in or out. You need to know the difference in track to work out what the correct gap is.

And obviously no use if the wheels are recessed into the arches and the bodywork gets in the way.

Serious answer to @nuttinnew - just drive it. It's probably fine.

It’s definitely a vague check and despite Dan suggesting it to me some years ago, I never did try it. Slack is irrelevant anyway because that would cause downward deflection and you only care about horizontal 😘

Picked up the Superb on Thursday, drove it home. Android play does not appear to work too well with Samsung phones but bluetooth is grand so not worrying about it right now.

Took my wife away for a night on Lindisfarne to just unwind after the last fortnight or so and got rear-ended on the way home by an old Ford galaxy. New bumper will be needed but you have to be up close to even see any damage but bugger me, whoever it is I pissed off must be a voodoo master!

That's a good dose of bad luck, hope claim goes painlessly.

Re car play, I had teething issues initially, check in settings that android is the preferred choice and apps are up to date etc. I've not had issues since.

What year is it Gavin? We have to plug in to use Android Auto. But the logical place to put the phone (cubby under the heater controls) isn't quite big enough to put a phone without it resting on the plug and I'm sure it knackered my old LG phone's usb socket as a result

I'll probably get a wireless AA adapter for ours to save the faff.

I didn't know you could get that, but TBH I like to charge my phone in the car anyway. I'm sure AA using the nav function and downloading podcasts etc must rinse battery? It would be handy for short journeys I suppose though...
