Awful news :(

Being married can be hard work and just being in love isn’t always enough.

Hope it is a smooth process whatever happens.

Thanks. Going crazy is hard but harder on those around who care about you. I'm getting help and there is a tiny chance it might all work out.

Urgh. Adulting is hard sometimes.

All the best with it James.

I've got close friend who's wife of 15 years decided last summer, seemingly out of the blue, that she didn't actually like him (let alone love him) anymore. They've got three young kids so it's all a bit shit.

He's been in bits since then. The fucker has spent hours on the phone to me and in person droning on about how much he loves her. Even though she's openly derisive of him and very open about the other men that she's been shagging since.

He's now having therapy so hopefully they'll reprogram the cunt enough for him to be able to obsess about something else. As it is, a year on and he's still hopeful that they'll get back together

tell me about it.

I argued against my daughter getting a horse. Apparently I don't understand the emotional need for such things and the pleasure that they bring.

Long story short daughter has bonded with horse. Horse has become irreparably broken (ligament damage) and now must either be retired at great cost or permanently retired with a bullet.

Currently living with two inconsolable women.

Why don't they just do what they're told eh?

Ironic that the horse would no doubt make wonderful glue.

Its mine's 50th in a few weeks and organising something as simple as drinks and food in a pub seems to be the mother of all fucking tasks.

Apparently she wants a present as well as a holiday on top of me feeding/filling with booze everyone we have ever met AND the whole local community   :D

Why not combine it with a wedding and reception for a proper fleecing? :D

Amusing as we asked someone how much to do some fancy nibbles based on pictures of a recent wedding they did - SIXTEEN HUNDRED QUID for nibbles. Once I finished laughing I said err No. :)

That's a rather insensitive comment Jobbo.

Try and picture it as a giant pussycat with a fucked leg. It might help you generate a little empathy ;)

Yes. He seems like a good horse.

I'm pretty used to seeing animals being euthanised and slaughtered but I don't think I've ever been unmoved when a much loved, domesticated animal is being put down. Mine or not.

It's just very hard not to say 'I told you so' at precisely the wrong moment :P

I can see why you explain this away as your daughter wanting a horse now. I bet it was her that wanted a Land Rover too, yeah?

No. I expressed an opinion which was subsequently disregarded.

I didn't submit to any further dialogue on the matter at any point and the money didn't come from my account either.

Anyway, they've just returned from a knackered horse retirement home which was apparently 'lovely'. So I guess it's not being shot after all.

Yet.
