No F1 thread?
Re: No F1 thread?
I found it interesting that Alonso was next up and was asked about his opinion and he pointed out that Monza in the spray was at least as dangerous so possibly something could be done but it was not about a section of Spa.
Re: No F1 thread?
That. I am not sure how that is the circuit layout at fault. RIP.Mito Man wrote: Sat Jul 01, 2023 11:45 pm Yep that just looked like an extremely unfortunate incident
Re: No F1 thread?
Tickets still available for Silverstone this weekend. Does it not normally sell out well before the day?
Re: No F1 thread?
Yup, but I think they created extra tickets this year and they’ve also started charging more. We’ve been every year since 2013, baring a year we went to Spain instead. Even went the Covid year where it was an experimental event. Giving it a miss this year because of the cost
Re: No F1 thread?
I noticed the Austrian GP was noticeably not full, even the Verstappen grandstand looked 20% empty.

Re: No F1 thread?
Having been on a busy Silverstone F1 weekend, I don't know how you'd physically fit more people in to sell more tickets on a Sunday...
Re: No F1 thread?
They’ve added more general admission spaces, and some that are general admission plus, where you pay extra to fight over a certain space. There’s now general admission space in front of Stowe grandstand and other bits that I forget, where previously it was fenced off
Re: No F1 thread?
The Sunday ticket for general admission is £429.
That’s £429 to stand in a mosh pit and if you’re happy to waste enough of your life to arrive 6 hours before the race you may catch a glimpse of the cars a few hundred metres away squinting between the multiple barriers and catch fencing.
Thoroughly in the fuck that camp.

We paid £330 last year for the full weekend ticket and a seat in the Stowe grandstand,Mito Man wrote: Wed Jul 05, 2023 6:31 pm The Sunday ticket for general admission is £429.

The prices don't add up, Sunday now sold out but Saturday is "from £129" but then you click on it and general admission which I believe to be the cheapest ticket is £209
Sunday may be more expensive than expected as it included "Mahiki" which is just the concert. I'm surprised that it's now its own thing as I'm certain the concerts were always a free bonus!

It’s not the normal concert, they’ve done it the last couple of years- it’s a marque night club that they fleece you for access. It’s all about how much they can drag out of your pockets now unfortunatelyMito Man wrote: Wed Jul 05, 2023 7:06 pm https://www.silverstone.co.uk/events/fo ... rix/prices

This website has tracked the prices for the last few years- since 2019 a weekend general admission ticket has gone up 84%

Re: No F1 thread?
Tells a story, 2020 Covid, yet 2021 despite having the Sprint race and everyone shafting the public to recoup lost revenue the tickets barely went up in price. 2022 and 2023
Also what's with the random houses they're building beside the track? I've been spammed with ads about it for a year now. Can't be selling them too well if they're advertising them that much.

Brad Pitt in an F2 car, quite an impressive makeover apart from the weird DRS mechanism on the rear wing.

He was on the f1 show wearing the same trousers with a Mercedes T-shirt. Looked even weirder somehow
