Yeah good stuff guys. @Beany great to hear that you're doing well after working for some difficult crowds over the years.

Top work Beany and DJ!

Great news for you both.
I'm envious of Alex's mid career break, what a refreshing thing to do

Thanks all!
@Carlos it is definitely worth doing. Perhaps a sabbatical?
The oddest thing was getting over the "but I should be working" feeling. When I was travelling back in 2003 I was on sabbatical (effectivity), so still had a job to talk about, things to do, and some sense of a timescale.
Compared to when I moved here, it is has been much more relaxed and unstressed, which is no surprise as financially we're in a very different place, and by the time I'll start it will have been three and a bit months, not nearly a year. But, I could still feel myself sliding into the old mindset if I wasn't careful. I limited my job search hours to no more than two a day to avoid the doom scrolling, and also stayed on one platform only. Part of what I remember causing me issues and anxiety was trying to keep track across multiple platforms, and feeling I had to search them all every day.
