Sorry for your loss Dunc, I imagine it's very hard to lose someone so close, unexpected or otherwise.

As for everyone else, Cancer is fucking horrible, 3 friends going through it, 2 are at stage 4 (or whatever terminal is) 37 and 50 years old. My best friend's wife we lost last year at 40 from the shitting thing as well.

Seems to be everywhere at the moment.

Sorry for your loss Duncs, but (as I'm sure you are) keep a side eye on your sister - I'm sure she's 'fine' now, and she'll tell you she's fine too, but she'll need to process it all once the 'busy work' is done. Been that person, etc.

It does seem to be everywhere, and what's also interesting is watching content creators dealing with it in real time. Both Hank Green and Ann Russell have been diagnosed in the last few weeks and are posting updates about their diagnoses and treatments. It's a really good thing that they're giving people insights into their thought processes around the illness.

@Beany we've been talking pretty much every day, her husband also lost his sister relatively recently too so has been giving lots of support and advice.

Without wanting to do a Broccers, respectfully, it is Friday which also means it's the weekend.

Tomorrow: Swim first thing. Meeting my amazing new video editor who is working wonders on videos for my YT channel - a cool video about chocolate dropping this 'avo. Then I'm going out to ask members of the public to do taste tests on different honeys and I'm frankly crapping myself. I hate going out on the streets and doing that kind of thing. Therefore obviously a great opportunity for growth etc...

Sunday: Finsbury Park 5k. Since switching from running to Triathlon training I've done almost zero speedwork and just kept my running legs ticking over with some base mileage. Therefore hoping to get a time similar to the 5k I did back in March without injuring myself.

On that note I also need to buy a wetsuit and book my place on the London Triathlon in August. It's my first, so I'm going to try the sprint distance for starters, and see if this triathlon lark is fun. The training is quite enjoyable and it does lots of very good things to your body, I feel really strong and fit from head to toe right now. Brings a lot of balance compared to just doing running or cycling. Runners end up looking like they've got an eating disorder, and cyclists just look weird naked, big legs and pidgeon chests.

Saturday: sit down on the sofa at 2:50pm with snacks and put on Le Mans.
Sunday: get up off sofa at 3:15pm and go for a stretch, shave and feel annoyed at having pissed the weekend away 😂
How about not having a sig at all?

Bit of a weird one. Seeing Tony! The Rock Opera tomorrow, then a few days in Dorset into next week with a mate who's got terminal pancreatic cancer and they've just stopped chemo. Taking the dog so his kids can play with her, they adore her so should be a good distraction.

Edited to add - you have my sympathies Duncs, all the best with it.

Today:
* Follow-on chat (= informal interview) for a role that I'm quite keen on (done)
* Volunteer at the school (done)
* Watch The Expanse (in progress)
* Drinks and dinner with friends later

Saturday:
Children's homework, take the middle one shoe shopping, then take the boys and their friends to see the new Spider-Man movie. They seem most excited about the pick'n'mix.

Sunday:
Take youngest to a birthday party, then all three for swimming lessons. Make venison tacos for dinner.
