Swerved to avoid a badly-judged oncoming overtake ?
Re: Teh Spotted Thread
It's a modern Audi so more likely the driver was looking at their phone and just ended up steering into the ditch, thinking that Quattro and ESP would sort them out.

Saw a purple v8 Lotus Esprit on the A20. Lurvely looking thing. Kids were suitably impressed.

I would have happily had one a couple of days back, stuck in traffic a reasonable distance from home*; if felt wrong shuffling a derv through Fordwich (until a FFRR came the other way...). Doing that on battery power with an optimised ICE to top it up on the motorway would have been ideal (plus a decent charging rate for a plug in full charge in, say, 15mins). Ampera prices seem to be at least holding steady if not rising. It's a pity the mk1 Insight couldn't run on just battery power - its engine would probably be pretty good as a generator - especially now newer tech battery packs are available that have more capacity in the same physical dimensions and are plug in to boot (mutters something about "I should have bought one when there were some about at £1.5-2kMito Man wrote: Thu May 25, 2023 10:52 pm It’s a shame range extenders never caught on as I’d rather have a commuter car with a larger battery pack and lightweight small engine with the benefits of a punchy electric motor powering the wheels vs a conventional hybrid which has a crap engine, small battery, crap electric range and overweight.

*Bad timing meant I was near Canterbury at rush hour, and the A28 was closed due to this accident https://www.kentonline.co.uk/canterbury ... sh-287799/
Re: Teh Spotted Thread
Yep it looked a mess, I assumed it was something special but it's registered as a 720s so I guess it's just added on tat.
Super douchey rego of 'IPO'
Re: Teh Spotted Thread
Fordwich is lovely, I also avoid driving my Defender through there but mainly because it’s quite taxing with its terrible turning circle
As for that accident

As for that accident

How about not having a sig at all?
Re: Teh Spotted Thread
Lovely when it isn't clogged with traffic
Everyone was helping it flow, unusually, which was pleasant.
I saw a coach with its hazards on just the other side of the diversion and feared it had met a ped., turns out it had nothing to do with it and the potentially worse incident ended with everyone pretty much unscathed
Lucky, lucky lass - I'll take the mild inconvenience, ta

Followed a very tidy probably-owned-from-new-and-garaged-all-its-life Xsara in metallic red up the M20 a couple of hours ago and three 458s went past the other way, line astern. IIrc they were yellow - red - metallic light blue (with stripe/s, maybe a Speciale). Nice morning for it

Don't like the big revs and skinny tyres but the paintjob looks beautiful.nuttinnew wrote: Sun Jun 04, 2023 12:12 am Ford Capri; couldn't get a pic but thought I might find one on t'net...

Very difficult to capture on camera, but it was almost mottled in appearance, and instead of seeing metallics flecks in the paint there were black flecks. Changed shade depending on the angle of the light - really highlighted curves and surface changes. Lovely.
