Wednesday - overnight ferry from Hull to Rotterdam
Thursday - drive down through the Netherlands into Germany and to Stuttgart where we were staying at the famous V8 Hotel.
Friday - Porsche Museum visit, then drive on to Speyer (via the ADAC Tower - see pic).
Saturday - Visit the Speyer Am Technik Museum before driving to Koblenz
Sunday - explore Koblenz then set off back to Rotterdam and the overnight ferry home.
Trip highlights were VIP parking on the concourse outside the Porsche museum, getting a personal tour round the submarine at Speyer by its former commander and the B-road blat we had between Speyer and Koblenz where as we trundled through the villages in between, we were getting thumbs up and waves from the locals.
The Boxster never missed a beat and despite some spirited (and fast) driving returned an impressive 32.1mpg over the whole trip and total fuel costs were £306 over 1008 miles. On twisty B roads, the Boxster was all over the back of a 997 Turbo Cab - it was just carrying more speed through the corners. The lack of a 6th gear made motorway cruising slightly more noisy than it could be, but as I had the roof down most of the time, it didn't really matter. 130mph with the roof down was a bit buffety though!
TLDR; I went on a road trip to Germany in a Porsche - it was awesome and so is Germany.
