Not sure if this will need a tonne of work more than it says in the ad or if it's good value

I think "Will need mot" means "basket case" unfortunately.

Well, fcuk. I popped out to do some wire brushing at lunchtime - a large benefit of WFH - and wondered there was oil down the side of the diff. There’s a bloody hole in it. And prices for medium case E30 diffs are ludicrous.

Patch up with a blob of weld and a load of underseal ?? I’m actually concerned the whole thing will fall apart, it must be paper thin in places.

Also:
"No rear seats
Sun roof needs attention "

Interior was flooded for months, and we've just scraped the mould off this morning for the pictures...

£3500 was a low price for a ratty 944 near a decade ago, that sort of price doesn't bode well for it not being a basket case.

Is a 4 pot Z3 one the same? They seem to get broken for just being the little engined variant, might find a random cheapy that way.
A blob & a coat will at least get it to Kemble.

4 pot z3 will have a small case.

Medium case from 6pots are stronger but more expensive.

Must admit, I’ve never seen anyone wirebrush through a diff casing before. Congratulations

Disaster averted. Phew. Via our car club FB group I’ve found one. Just need them to post it from Kent or else I have a 4hr round trip to collect it.

I want an lsd but they’re getting silly now, and in the dry it doesn’t warrant it anyway. Would be nice to make it a bit more playful in the wet though.

Will have to wait until I drop the e30 running gear into it I guess ;)

I'm sure they used to be £500 and I thought that was bad enough. More like £1k now.

Full E30 M3 running gear into the Compact. Yes. 8-) Even if it's just temporary for teh LOLZ. Probably only a weekend to swap it all back again ?

I see you have thought about this!

I really need a garage and a second (well, first) car so I can tinker with stuff like that.

If I had somewhere dry to store cars / projects then yes, I almost certainly would. If only to annoy people by hitting an m3 to put the bits into a compact of all things

Engine is going to have to come out at some point to sort out the bulkhead / inner wings anyway.

Super little things. Dad has an 04 plate that he's fitted coilovers too. Great to drive and a bit of a bargain.

Boxster is back having had new front crossover pipes, new air con condensers and new radiators. Warranty company should cover the cost of the condensers and the rads. All ready for Germany now.
