Those units look like they’ll take up a massive amount of the interior. Also how much would a wheel alignment cost from damage caused by a pothole or horrendous wheel kerbing. And also you better hope a position sensor never breaks

Don’t think you’ll see them on a production vehicle for about 10 years at least

You know the electric Hummer does that already? And that’s a production vehicle.

It’s not quite the same. The hummer just has relatively conventional steering racks front and rear. That Hyundai system steers through rotating top mounts, with suspension mounted to a large block that spins as one, with motors in all 4 wheels. It’s an impressive system that will be horrendously expensive, delicate and complicated to integrate into a full production model. I imagine something will come of it but no time soon

The Hyundai system is obviously more complicated but the effect is pretty much the same other than the pointless spinning on the spot. But the Hyundai’s system is vastly more complicated for no real benefit; I can’t see it ever being released with completely independent steering for each wheel.

That was my point

@nuttinnew good vid - I know it’s as close to a race car than a road car, but the RS looks super-quick there 8-)

That was awesome. 8-)

Amazing car, and a brilliantly honest and open delivery by Henry. It looked ridiculous from the outside - cuts to Henry - yep - utterly ridiculous.

I’ve done an aerobatics experience, and 99% of the forces are either up or down - even fighter pilots wouldn’t get near these lateral g-levels.

That looks like a riot, I love it.

Really highlighted something that I think about a lot in this age of 2 tonne thousand horsepower EVs. You're ultimately relying on a not very big patch of rubber to not crash.
An absolute unit
