If it has radar cruise and/or surround cameras they will need aligning once you're done as well, or you get some odd stuff happening and a load of errors.

The air suspension dropped itself right to the floor though and refused to get up until I'd cycled the ignition a few times.

It's still ended up lower than before so I'll run the calibration process tomorrow. But I will confess it does look better slightly lower than stock so I'll do that by fudging the calibration. Even though it's a s**t old VW I'm not doing "stance", don't worry

Not mine but the SiL's. They're wanting to replace their mid-size estate with a larger hybrid estate/SUV. Just found out that theirs was stolen and written off, when the dealer was doing a valuation. They were never told when they bought it, and it wasn't suspiciously cheap or had signs of damage/repair. Looks like they're being knocked down 45% on the trade-in value.

Did they buy privately or trade? I think there is some protection if buying an undisclosed write off from the trade.

There's a thread on PH very recently about a a guy who bought a C63 from a dealer - like all dealers, all stock is confirmed HPI clear, and he even did his own check, also showed clear. When he came to sell it, previous owner saw it and informed him it was written off in his ownership....apparently this was missed by both dealers and his own HPI's.

Either way, seems dealer is, well, dealing with it. So regardless of age, definately get in touch with them if it was bought by them.

Yup. From what I've found (while waiting in endless may day queues for rides, facepaint, and food) the onus is on them. Hopefully they've kept the paperwork (advert and the like) from when they bought it.

Im fairly certain my Accord had at one point had a major shunt. Not recorded though.

It was missing the stone chip stickers off the passenger side and i spotted a blending line on the paint. There was also a shit repair done to the bootlid. But then when i had it some cunt arse ended it on the bypass which also wasn't recorded. You never know history if its been repaired.

The 535d threw a transmission fault on friday during a spirited drive to pick up youngest son in Tetbury. After parking up and cycling the ignition, the fault cleared but a headlight had blown. I suspect electrical gremlins. I'll test the voltage on the battery at some point just to check.

Have you replaced the battery on your 535d Jimmy? There’s a secret menu which will show voltage in the instrument display - Google how to get to it - and that will tell you if it’s charging properly. One of my 545is had a dicky alternator and it was obvious when I watched the voltage - before that my specialist suggested various things like new battery, new IBS lead and something else before doing the alternator but that’s just a waste of money.

Knock sensor has gone on the Merc, and according to the dealer's healthcheck video it's half way down the exhaust? Anyway it's on back order at the moment so don't know how long it'll be till that's back. Dealer reckon's 2-3 weeks. Not a biggie as I'll be away next week anyway and the car gets used so little normally....

Galaxy still using coolant. Wife took it for a 150ish miles trip yesterday and it is down about a centimeter from the max line of the reservoir. I topped it up before she left. Back with the mechanic tomorrow to pull the plugs and run a pressure test of the cooling system (again).

Seems unlikely. Every knock sensor I've seen was attached directly to the block. That's normally how they work. Halfway down the exhaust is likely to be a post-cat lambda sensor.

My thoughts too. I think the mechanic meant 'Nox' sensor and the service rep misheard him.
