Personally I hate you both, and Nic, and Kin - and why?

Because I get no fucking attention! 😂

Another one that's been left standing by it's Japanese owner so the battery is now a brick. Current waiting list is 1-2 years from Tesla but even then they seem to be having problems with the new battery packs. So not sure what I'll do with it but at least it was cheap :D
How about putting a Toyota supercharged engine in it? :D

Have I taught you nothing!? Let's get Beany to kill him, pay him off with the G-Wagon, and share the rest.

Edit - We can give ste a fixer-upper to keep his mouth shut, he'd love that. ;)

I did seriously consider something like that... until I saw how stupidly expensive they are when powered by batteries

You have taught me well.

It's my (in)ability to learn that should be under the spotlight here

Fucking WOW. What a list of cars! Amazing.

Re the Tesla,

a) What's 'Brabus' about it?

and

b) Can't you crack open the battery pack and replace the individual cells? Surely they're fairly 'standard' aren't they?

SLS is still my favourite.

Tesla Brabus is just about the most random thing I’ve ever seen.
How about not having a sig at all?

They'll likely be tightly binned (IE A+ capacity and internal resistance) at the supply chain for tesla only, to enable careful charge/discharge/heat generation balance between packs of cells.

A job lot of cells that aren't verfiably extremely high spec from the manufacturer direct would be a liability, and even then, would require extensive testing to verify acceptable charge/discharge rates, group those into packs, make sure the battery management software is aware of which cell is which.

TLDR - throwing your own cells into a Tesla battery pack without knowing exactly what you're doing is highly likely to be a shortcut to your own mobile fireworks display.

Wow. I’ll take the F355, the FF and the G300. The SLS has never done it for me.

I thought I was the only one who likes that model of 7 series. A very correct looking car.

I love them. An E38 740i was the first Bimmer I ever drove. What a lovely car!

The Turbo 2 is awesome though. One of my all time fav's!!

I can post in this thread finally without any smoke and mirrors... The ex has spent the last 18 months trying to claim half the car as hers and all that shenanigans is finally over so public photos...

Image

Recently added Yokohama Advan Racing RS wheels to the 86 and just at the weekend fitted it with some shiny new Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres. Much preferring the way it's looking and handling now. Few things I want to do it (principally give it a bloody good wash) which may start to kick into gear once I move into the new house in a few weeks.

Here in NZ the early TRD cars were available with TRD shocks and springs which were actually variations of the setup fitted to the racing series cars made by MCA in Australia. They also came with 6pot/4pot brakes which were rebranded Brembos but required 18" wheels to fit. Later cars here and special editions like the Chris Amon Edition (https://www.toyota.co.nz/86-chris-amon-edition/) come with optional Sachs dampers and 4 pot/2 pot Brembos which fit under the 17" wheels. From what I can gather these are available relatively standard in the UK?

I'm ultimately trying to get the car to be something which would tackle North Wales roads easily, that supple control thing that means it won't be phased by anything driving over full on roads. It's an approach literally none of the other NZ owners cars about so I've very little help to guide me. Current thinking is the underbody bracing and that Sachs dampers and 4/2pot Brembo kit but I can't find anyone with a car equipped like that here to try out. Have any of you guys driven an 86 equipped like that on decent UK roads and any thoughts?

edited to correct buggered link, thanks Mik
