Re: Your fleet running reports
It occurs to me that I'm now more of a VAG fan (Bentley + 2x Porsche) than a BMW guy (Compact + MINI), and even Ford is now on a par with BMW here (Galaxie + Aston).
I'm not sure how I feel about this.

Only one way to soothe your concerns: buy a BMW era RR (the proper RR, not the upstart JLR ones). That'll bring balance to the force.Sundayjumper wrote: Wed Apr 19, 2023 11:22 am It occurs to me that I'm now more of a VAG fan (Bentley + 2x Porsche) than a BMW guy (Compact + MINI), and even Ford is now on a par with BMW here (Galaxie + Aston).

A 25 year old Range Rover ?? That's either
a) far too risky
or
b) hold my beer

But you're thinking about it... @Gavster is out of the family car game, but is your Bentley a match for your dad's Maserati or would you need the car that "that takes the best there is, and make it better"?

Re: Your fleet running reports
In a game of Top Trumps the Bentley is longer, heavier, has a larger engine with more cylinders, is more powerful, and has a higher top speed. I'm not even sure if the Rolls would beat it by very much ?

It is all about the brand! You're right about the numbers game.

Only 17.2litres? Did you forget to add the Bentley and the Porsche into the galaxy’s engine sizeSundayjumper wrote: Wed Apr 19, 2023 8:28 pm "I like big cars and I cannot lie"

Given how badly aligned they are, I hope he didn't pay too much, though

Re: Your fleet running reports
I'm building up to forking out on new tyres for the Spur. 275/40/20. I think the best deal I've found is from Tyresonthedrive, a set of Eagle F1 3 SUV for £700. That's actually less than buying from Camskill, but they obviously come here and fit them for me.
Black circles don't seem as competitive as they used to be. Anyone else I need to look at ?

I think someone recommended Asda Tyres?
Galaxy needs new summer tyres, but until the engine issue is sorted, I'm holding off.

Merityre in Hook have always given me a decent price and service. A chap called Barry is the owner there, into his bike track days.Sundayjumper wrote: Fri Apr 21, 2023 9:41 am I'm building up to forking out on new tyres for the Spur. 275/40/20. Or a CostCo deal on Michelins to save £100?
