Because buying and selling cars is a pain in the arse unless you're a hoarder and have others to use / borrow.

Most people want it done in one transaction so you don't have to tax and insure two cars at the same time, one of which will be on 0ncb, then deal with morons.

Or sell your car first because you need the money for a new one then you can't get to work / get to the new car which is a pain in the bum.

Those are valid points, admittedly.

I guess it's for people who are in the shit and wouldn't be able to cash a cheque as it would just get swallowed up in overdrafts and so on. Y'know - poor people.

Trade in value of the Mondeo is lower than I expected, to be blunt - got about a £1000-1500 to find depending on what car I want.

Can we have a whip-round and sort this out ? Just so he can buy the silver one and we all get some closure ?
