That would make me twitchy  I'd need a Focal sub to balance it out.
The idea was to do it using existing parts and minimal spending even if it meant a less than ideal setup.

However I’m already looking into amps 😂 and looks like focal subs are reasonably priced…

Instead, just for you @Jobbo, here's the old & new side by side, with the correct trims, and with the trims transposed.

You’ll probably be able to sell the spare set of wheels on easily to someone with a vw transporter

I'm confused about all this centre cap stuff. Isn't this what you're looking for?

Yeah, but you also need this and this and this to make up the whole assembly, which comes to over £200 and it still won't match my wheels because they've been refurbed before in a non-OEM finish.

I got the set of chrome wheels - including the four centre caps - for £425 which was quite the bargain. They need a refurb really, but they're perfectly usable and if I sell the old ones for >£425 I've effectively replaced the missing cap *and* made a profit. This is how I manage to run interesting cars - doing my own spannering, and ferreting out parts bargains.

how the hell did you find out that? Did they have a code on them?
Yeah. But I made sure it wasn't visible in that photo, otherwise some smartass would Google it, cross reference to the Ferrari part, and post a link to scuderiaparts.com

Which is exactly what I did, of course :D

Me neither. I've never encountered anything like this before. Maybe it stops brake dust getting into the joint ? I really don't know.

At least the confusion as to their use probably justifies the Ferrari tax. Hope you find a willing buyer!

So after lots of looking around, trying to justify a C6 RS6 estate and the price of good condition GLs, even the 350CDI models we will be keeping the ML. I’m not ready to not have a V8 for a daily and as much as I’d love an ML63, the tyres, servicing and brakes take it away from what we use the car for. Yes I’ll be wearing my princess dress after that statement

So I will be slowly getting parts together to give it a mid life freshen up.
Alloys refurbished and some kind of apple car play without losing any features from the Harmon Kardon set-up as it sounds lovely.
Lowering links as when hitting middle age I’d like to pretend I’m a baller.
Rear silencer bypass.
Paintwork on various panels due to 145,000 miles of dings and wear and tear.
New fog lamps.
Royal steering wheel retrim and possibly paddles instead of the odd rocker switches it currently has.

It still handles great, moves around when being a tit and has great brakes and a characterful engine so just can’t see what else does that.

A Cayenne Turbo was discussed but when I looked at running costs, it’s a leap above what we currently spend on maintenance etc.

Over 90,000 miles it’s averaged 19.8mpg
12 oil changes. £1440
3 Air filters. £180
16 spark plugs. £60
2 Exhaust clamps. £30
4 sets of tyres. £2800
3 sets of discs and pads. £1200
4 air springs. £600
1 wheel bearing. £300
Front subframe mounts. £450
1 years warranty. £1400
Headlamp bulbs. £110
Air-con regas. £90

£8660 in 8.5 years and 90,000 miles.
10p a mile in maintenance and wear and tear.

£24,600 in petrol at a 120p average litre cost.

37p a mile including fuel.

We have pretty much sat at £900 a year for both tax and insurance, every year insurance slightly drops as tax slightly raises 🙄

So £8100 in 9 years.

48p a mile including maintenance, tax, fuel.

Purchase price was £12,000, prices for similar spec is between 5 and 6 so I’ll be optimistic as it is a nice example still and say £6000 lost in depreciation.

63p a mile for maintenance, tax, insurance, fuel and depreciation.

Very pleased with that.

Dave!

Alpine amp to match the radio, and a Focal sub to match the fronts. I'd be able to live with that.

I'll stick them on ebay. They're £200 each new, I bet I can get £50 each, even if it takes a while to find a buyer.

I've found knock-off wheel bits on Alibaba:

Have any of you guys used Alibaba ? I've used Aliexpress - tentatively - and it worked out OK but this seems like it's more aimed at commercial buyers.

2x new toyos fitted. The crack on the old wheel wasn’t bad at all, didn’t extend under the bead, was probably only leaking because it had allowed corrosion to start. Considering getting it welded as a spare if I can find somewhere trustworthy.

I think I’ve found the water problem on the Bentley. Sunroof drain. These two bits are mean to be joined together.

New favourite cleaning thing - magic eraser sponge. Just a sponge & warm water does a pretty impressive job of cleaning up the leather. Here’s the glove box lid, half done and fully done. No chemicals, just warm water.

That's quite the transformation. I've seen them use them, but don't understand the magic.

For anything that a magic eraser doesn’t do a bar of pears soap dissolved into a bowl of hot water, a carpet brush and a sponge can normally shift any dirt that’s left

I heard similar about Marseille soap - ideally with olive oil. Bought some to try - Mrs mik loves it (for human use - not tried it on a car yet  ).

Is there anything special about Pears / Marseilles soap ? I was going to try some mild liquid hand soap as a next step.

Also, I googled “Marseille soap” and this was literally the first hit:

I wonder if there is any connection with the rather delicious Fanny jam of Peru 😂
