Re: Your fleet running reports
I hate stop/start and it always gets turned off. In the Superb it has a tendency to cut out below 1-2mph, so if you're coasting and anticipating traffic ahead to move off again, or if you're approaching a junction and going for a quick look to see if the way is clear, it will cut the engine. It will be 100% ours soon so I'll look at getting VAGcom and will code the bloody thing to permanently off.

Yes, that one right thereSundayjumper wrote: Tue Mar 07, 2023 11:13 amI thought it was that era of Merc generally ? Early Vitos definitely rust like crazy, up to about 2006-ish.
Yeah, that looks very nice. I like the wheels.

Re: Your fleet running reports
That's exactly what the MINI does. In rolling stop-start traffic it's quite easy to catch it out.Swervin_Mervin wrote: Tue Mar 07, 2023 3:05 pm I hate stop/start and it always gets turned off. Re: Your fleet running reports
Earlier ones had the SBC brake system which can be troublesome and expensive to fix. The only problems I had with mine was a window regulator and an injector seal.
Re: Your fleet running reports
Oh and a glow plug controller which was £80 and two minutes to replace.

Mk 7 R estate.Rich B wrote: Tue Mar 07, 2023 10:00 amwhat golf is it?Gavin wrote: Tue Mar 07, 2023 8:23 am Picked up the Golf late afternoon. Drove home in eco mode by mistake then couldn't find the mode button to try any different modes, it was cleverly hidden behind the stick!![]()
Managed 35 mpg, filled huge tank which must only be 50 litres so a lot smaller than the Merc. Found race mode with g meter etc, not sure that will ever be used but the race mode made me laugh out loud. It is no faster than the TT I don't think but it certainly sounds faster.
Car handles really well for an estate but it quite relaxed when cruising, overall very happy.

never try to understand Broccers posts....Gavin wrote: Thu Mar 09, 2023 7:26 amI have seen it?Or is that for someone else. I will stick a post up on the faceache page as I know how to to that! If someone has the skillz to stick em on here somwhere that would bee great for the non FB users though.
I always liked the estate R - seemed to be a perfect "do everything" type of car.

Yeah, I really like the shape and white seems to suit it, although with two white cars I hope my shoulder recovers so I can keep them looking clean.Rich B wrote: Thu Mar 09, 2023 7:34 amnever try to understand Broccers posts....Gavin wrote: Thu Mar 09, 2023 7:26 amI have seen it?Or is that for someone else. Same here. Have had some movement in my shoulder joint for decades - damaged it in my late teens moving a gearbox around on my own in the garage. About a month ago however I did “something” to it and it’s now “unstable”. Absolutely no issue 99% of the time, but specific movements bring intense, stabbing pain. Most annoying thing is that my preferred sleeping position is on my front with that arm raised and underneath the pillow…. which has been impossible for weeks now. Ouch.Gavin wrote: Thu Mar 09, 2023 7:42 am might be fun trying to get he bikes on with a fucked rotator cuff

I am the same and it is my right (dominant) shoulder. Things like getting soap out a dispenser are shooting pain but I can lift my son in and out of bed.mik wrote: Thu Mar 09, 2023 8:46 amSame here. OV9 the thrill of decrepitude!
Re: Your fleet running reports
I booked the BMW into spires on the back of the harry m project 8 video, Matt is obviously highly knowledgable and the premises are super clean and close to the motorway. It seems that my car has already been tweaked, which its a surprise. The upper arms have been changed to allow more camber allowing the setup to more aggressive than a stock M5. Even at low speeds, I could instantly feel the steering to be sharper but due to snow I haven't pushed the car yet.

Bizarrely they were never designed to have a tow bar and have no capacity tow on v5, plate etcGavin wrote: Thu Mar 09, 2023 7:42 am

Just ordered another roof carrier for the bikes as the kids never cycle so paying for a towbar to attach the 4 bike carrier seems a bit daft.

Re: Your fleet running reports
im lazy as fuck when it comes to washing/getting my car washed, and every time I do get round to it I always think how much better I like having a clean car... I know I'll still leave it another 3 months before getting round to it again though...Broccers wrote: Wed Mar 08, 2023 5:56 pm Washed the mini yesterday ready for it to be covered in salt and snow
Still looking fresh tho.

Second line comment on your car.
What wheels has it got? Also has the haldex been done?
