He went on to further criticise Mr Thorleifsson saying: "The reality is that this guy (who is independently wealthy) did no actual work, claimed as his excuse that he had a disability that prevented him from typing, yet was simultaneously tweeting up a storm.

"Can't say I have a lot of respect for that."
Did Business Genius Elon Musk pull something from the guys HR file and use it to mock him on Twitter? I think that's what might be a potential 'whoopsy', in legalese.
From Miks thread:

He certainly seems to think so...

Also, this just made me laugh.

Elon will probably get sued and will probably lose. Tesla has been sued many a time by ex-employees to the tune of millions.

It seems like the genius is incapable of creating a positive working environment, or just not treating staff like they're utter shit. And I can believe it, going by the way he's publicly fucked off a disabled employee and accused him of faking it.

Crazy shit.

Yep, it's pretty crazy. I don't wish to criticise him much though in case it's related to his Asperger's which makes him have no filter and not realise when he's crossing the line. All round awkwardness.
How about not having a sig at all?

Apparently 'based on this comment' and definitely not the lawyers screaming at him over the special employment contract he just publicly tore up, after defaming an employee and citing his disability as a reason for being sacked in front of millions of people.

Also, the fucking irony.

He's so fucking stupid.

Edit:
I think that last line....

Should read "He is considering whether to remove a significant proportion of Twitters revenue for our breach of contract, before possibly engaging in legal action for the CEOs behaviour with respect to my employment status and rights"

Not strictly on-topic but this morning I listened to the Cautionary Tales podcast on the scamming of Physicist Paul Frampton.

The hubris, self justification and seeming disconnect from reality that this, by all objective measures, extremely intelligent and successful individual had really was something to hear.

Seems a strong parallel with Musk's own apparent utter obliviousness (ignorance/stupidity) to the real world.

Which I find personally sad because Space X are doing truly impressive stuff and Neurolink could be world changing.

But as a figurehead for science Elon needs to keep his trap shut for a good long while.

The rumour is that his exit package was 8 or 9 figures and that's why Elon is so contrite

I've enjoyed following that this morning.

To summarise he's on the pay roll as Twitter bought his tech company for a reportedly $100million and that is how he requested to be paid so he could contribute to the Icelandic Income Tax system. Elon sacking him meant the balance had to be settled in full immediately

I personally enjoyed the bit where he says “We grew fast and made money. I think that's what you are referring to when you say independently wealthy?

That I independently made my money, as opposed to say, inherited an emerald mine”

Like their HR department, I think you need to add 'assuming they still exist' - the PR team absolutely doesn't.

Musk: "I am a Business Genius. I will make people pay for API access. Through the nose. Like, tens of thousands of dollars a month for a smaller amount of data than was previously available free. Those academics, doing research, they can pay between $40k and $200k/month for what they had previously for nowt."

"Blackburn [assistant professor at Binghamton University in New York and a member of the iDRAMA Lab, which analyzes hate speech on social media—including on Twitter] however, says researchers will continue to find a way to scrutinize what’s happening on Twitter. “We’ve been mostly cut off from Facebook for years and we’ve continued to make progress,” he says. “It’s not like science is going to be held hostage by a guy that played himself into burning $44 billion on a website that makes no money, just so he could force all its users to read his shitposts.”

According to Wired, access to Twitter's API will cost $500,000 per year for access to 0.3% of their Tweets! 😮😂
