Re: Twitter
Now getting an error when I view a tweet - none of the replies show. ‘Try again’ sometimes works a bit, loads a few and then shows the same error after that point.
When do you reckon Twitter will completely fall over? And will it be fixed in under 24 hours?

Re: Twitter
No, there's lots of people in this thread saying it's not changed in the slightest and is even better than it was before, as such your experience of it being fucked is entirely invalid.Jobbo wrote: Sat Feb 18, 2023 6:43 pm Now getting an error when I view a tweet - none of the replies show. ‘Try again’ sometimes works a bit, loads a few and then shows the same error after that point.

Re: Twitter
Also I would *expect* you'd need to get a QR code from the web version of Twitter, and then use your phone to snap that in Authenticator/Authy/whatever?
You know, assuming they haven't cocked up the implementation of what is a very standardised system these days.

Re: Twitter
I apparently have iOS Authenticator linked. Which is news to me since I had no idea it existed, I already have Twitter in Google Authenticator and I certainly didn’t set up the iOS one.
Can’t easily switch to Google Authenticator without scanning the QR code, which shows up on the device I’m using to scan… maybe with two mirrors…?

So there’s now going to be a Meta verified subscription for $12 a month or $15 on ios

"Hold on, we can charge for what should be basic features? That'll take some of the sting out of iOS not letting us mine customer data to sell to the highest bidder any more"
Re: Twitter
I don’t see how paying for a service increases authenticity.
If I were to pay to use either Twitter or Facebook, I’d expect not to see any adverts.

You don't really think they'd miss an opportunity to double dip?
Remember, they can't just make some of the money, they have to make all of the money, all the time, at any cost.

Re: Twitter
Set up 2FA with Google Authenticator using my iPad and iPhone. I already had 2FA set up using Google Authenticator, so Twitter have completely fucked this up - by simply clicking on the 'I Accept' button or whatever it was, they removed all 2FA including the authenticator app, not just SMS. Twarts.

Twitter? Making an arse of an implementation?

Re: Twitter

I think it's time to stop linking tweets about Twitter and screengrab them, as I have done with the above error message.
Re: Twitter
Yeah, it's almost like sacking half your staff and then trying to make changes in production is a bad move.
Don't forget to blame it on twitter being brittle, after disabling large mounts of backend services.

Never a dull moment, eh?

Did Business Genius Elon Musk pull something from the guys HR file and use it to mock him on Twitter? I think that's what might be a potential 'whoopsy', in legalese. He went on to further criticise Mr Thorleifsson saying: "The reality is that this guy (who is independently wealthy) did no actual work, claimed as his excuse that he had a disability that prevented him from typing, yet was simultaneously tweeting up a storm.
"Can't say I have a lot of respect for that."

He's an absolute liability. Surely he's setting himself up for a defamation suit if this person wanted to sue.
