Well now I'm just depressed at how much Z4 coupes cost

Puma wheels do look a bit lost in the arches, but the wheel travel makes up for on bumpy roads. I don't think they look crazy small, they could just do - visually - with being a little bigger overall. Maybe 16s with the same profile (IE larger overall diameter) tyres?

987s came out in 2005 and dont really seem that ancient yet imo.

Good point - the 986 looks like a bit of a classic now but the 18yr old 987 still looks fresh. Hard to believe I was looking at 5yr old ones in 2010 before buying a 986.

Agree on the IS/Altezza but it's a shame you guys didn't get the RS200 version, I think it would have been loved in such a manual gearbox market.

I think Lotus cars are generally pretty timeless. Maybe because they usually design a car and call it done for about 20 years.

Not mine sadly, Si. That's an '88 SE which sold for £130K last year. Mine's Grand Prix White and should be back from the bodyshop in a couple of weeks, so it will look that good.

I was parked near a very very tidy blue VX220 a few weeks ago and I remember thinking for a car night on 20 years old I looked incredibly fresh. I think it helps that they are the rarer cars that you don't tend to see every day.

Thinking back to how the Puma drove gets me flip flopping between my next car being a big turbo six (335i/d with a remap) that would be fast but heavy, or going back ot something light that can be properly ragged, like a Twingo 133 or a Panda 100hp.

I do think I should get something big and fast before they're unfavourable to tax/run costs wise though, which I'm sure in the next ten years will start to become more the case....

As someone currently running a Twingo 133- it needs to be ragged to get pace out of it, best description I’ve seen someone give is “French vtec”. 5 speed box so runs 3500-4000rpm at 70 so not a motorway car as such

Chassis is great and being so small gives you plenty of room to adjust on narrow roads

Not the best on fuel but it’s not about that really
